Everyone was shocked when no one stood up for the reporter he called Piggy.

On behalf of all the little girls who were called this and no one stepped up for them either, I see you.

The interview with John Swinney, is a pure embarrassment.
Pretty much a demonstration of how not to perform an interview. Talking over the person you just asked a question is not a good look. Ch4 knows better, please do better.

What of the people that live an area with no phone signal?
It will be worse than useless, it will be another example of how awful infrastructure is and how zero-G areas are ignored.

I am opposed to mandatory digital ID - people should be able to go about their daily lives without such infringements.

That aside, by calling it BritCard, the Prime Minister seems to be attempting to force every Scot to declare ourselves British.

Just the BBC doing the bidding of their right wing overlords. The don't like platforms where they have no control.
Again, I really do have concerns about exactly how Justin Webb is acquiring his knowledge of US politics or what prompted him to make this exact point.
Justin Webb just referred on Today to "platforms like Bluesky, where you can see the celebration of the killing" of Charlie Kirk.

What I'm seeing on here is overwhelming condemnation; despair at the violence of US politics; alarm at where this might go; & calls for equal horror at other shootings.

There was an upsurge in small boat crossings after the UK abandoned a returns agreement with other European countries. The UK now stands alone in Western Europe in being outside that agreement. Hard Brexiteers own this problem. Time to rejoin the Dublin convention.

Where has this ludicrous ECHR "debate" even come from.

I've never once met an ordinary member of the public who's said to me, "Do you know what? We REALLY need to leave the ECHR."

It's just a new right wing talking point because every other shit idea they've foisted on us has run out of steam.

Petition: Ensure plurality of political coverage across UK broadcast media at all times
We want to ensure that a plurality of views from all political parties in Westminster are represented and the nations parliaments are heard all year round, not just election times. The rules for coverage during elections should apply at all times.

THIS is why fossil fuel interests are pouring money into Reform.
Wind and solar are the perfect renewable power pairing in Britain💨 ☀️

98% of the time, it is either windy or sunny. Particularly windy days are often cloudier, while very sunny days are usually calmer.

A match made in… Britain! 🤝

mRNA vaccines are safe, have been in development for decades, & have far broader applications than older vaccine technologies.
New vaccine technologies evolve when scientists have tools & knowledge to make something more elegant or complex that wasn’t possible before.

It has always been the case - tits for clicks
Underrated point!

Collapse of written news into traffic chasing via a small number of algorithms (Facebook, Google homepage, whatever bollocks your browser is pushing) rewards super-simple clicky headlines. If you’re under pressure to hit a click target, the Reform narrative keeps your boss happy.
Surprising. Reach PLC's current stock in trade is Reform-friendly talking points, especially on Facebook – they’re an asset to the party.

Scotland needs to leave the wretched Union. ECHR is another Brexit. If they repeal ECHR they will be opening concentration camps if the haven't already.
I agree with every word of this but where was this concern when every channel promoted “No” in 2014?

Instead Scots were told that we were lucky to have the most balanced media in the world. You know, like the Fox slogan.
Reform UK, which has a grand total of four MPs, was just given an uninterrupted platform for an hour and a half on the BBC and Sky News channels, in order to talk about its plans for mass deportations

When was the last time the Greens (with four MPs) or the Lib Dems (with 72) were given the same?

The only foreigner problem the UK has is foreigner money in UK politics. It needs banned and any politicians accepting foreign money deported to wherever the money comes from.
This must be said more:

'the nature of British society today is such that much of the public have partners, relatives, friends, and co-workers of a different ethnic group'

As:

'Ultimately, diversity should be our greatest strength, and it is that argument that anti-immigration zealots fear most.'
The immigration debate is going badly off track, thanks to a combination of opportunism, racism and spinelessness in the UK's political and media class.

But it's not too late to turn things round.

Why should people that don't support the Reform party pay for the license fee? BBC seems to be now a channel who promotes the Reform Party and given I live in Scotland also promotes anti-Scottish government propaganda. I don't recall any of this in the BBC charter?

Too many folk overthinking this. "Mass deportations are an abhorrence that a civilised country should not countenance".

That's all.

No need for logistical advice, the spirit of Churchill, or picking your favourite previous action down the slippery slope.
A day of shame for the UK. A political party proposes mass deportations and the response from other political parties is not to condemn this as going further than even Mosley or the National Front.
No10 spokesman not prepared to criticise anything about Farage speech today.

Not his description of "invasion", not his prediction that the UK on brink of civil war, not plans to pay the Taliban or Iran to take back migrants, or indeed to rule out doing so themselves.
