I genuinely think we live in a golden age of kids non-fiction, so I’m very excited for us to celebrate #NonFictionNovember with this week’s #KidsBooksFriday.

What brilliant non-fiction would you recommend? This is another week where I can’t possibly stop at four.

I just watched this brilliant Author's Live with Ely, Kirsty and Nadine talking about their work. Really useful for the kids studying their work as set texts, but also so many tips and insights that would be useful for young writers. www.scottishbooktrust.com/authors-live...

It's been a very quiet week.
As a small business owner that’s a bit scary heading into my busy season.

So, if you're looking for unique #Christmas gifts, I make prints, homewares, cards & accessories inspired by midcentury design, music & architecture.

Anyone able to help? #NonFictionNovember
I would love to discover some recommendations for secondary non-fiction please. Anything that's proven popular with 11-16 year olds. Bonus points if it's about farming or dirt bikes as they are topics I definitely need more books on. #UKKidLit #KidsBooksFriday

The Girl Who Lived to Tell her Story (12+) was incredibly powerful and moving, although I would recommend caution with some children, as some bits are very hard hitting and sad (though it is written for young people) . It is an impactful true story, about something that should not be forgotten x

David Macaulay's books - particularly his architectural series - have always fascinated children who love NF.

Think of an Eel shows how a NF text can be both factual and lyrical.

Both old now but timeless.

One of the best non fiction titles I’ve read recently was The History of Information by Chris Haughton. It’s an incredible book and a really important one too as it talks about things like propaganda and machine learning. Highly recommend for all ages from 9+. A must for adults too!
