Borrowed Light   The moon wears  a stolen shimmer. Sunlight softened  like breath on glass.    I walk through its spill,  barefoot on dew. Each step a theft  of silver.    Trees hold their shadows  stretching memories across the skin of night. Aching to be seen.    I am a flicker in the dark. Carrying what I can  of the light that isn’t mine.

Granny to Little Red Riding Hood (2026) I’m bored of this fairytale life of keeping the wolf from the door I’m sick of this living in fear I’m tired of being so poor surrounded by beautiful woods my cottage is rustic and quaint a destiny tourists would love regardless of needing a paint So granddaughter darling, I’m off this cottage is no longer me in order to travel the world I’ve put it on Airbnb I’ve not mentioned wolves in the ad I need lots of five star reviews so if a wolf dresses in drag the woodcutter knows what to do Mark Bird
