This year we completed a full-color 266 page graphic novel. Thousands of hours of work! We loved every minute of it! Next year is gonna be even busier. Wilomina: The Land of Dreams and Nightmares will be published by @scholasticuk.bsky.social in Aug 2026 & we’ll be working on the sequel. #KidLitUK

The Angouleme festival is cancelled in 2026, but they're organizing a 'Grand OFF', a sort of fringe festival to replace it, organized collectively. The festival normally brings 3.5 million Euros of revenue to the whole town. Hope this Grand OFF helps mitigate things for everyone.

We can imagine bookshops full of "McDonald's" books, which is essentially what AI books will be: junk. Customers aren't gonna ask for AI books, but they will end up buying them if you shove it at them. Just like what happened with junk food. Please don't.

Utterly shocked, after a school visit today, to learn they’re doing away with all school librarians in Glasgow. By the end of this year there will be zero left. They actually don’t want educated people. The teacher said to us this morning they’re just taking the money for their ‘trips to New York’.

Del Toro’s Frankenstein is an absolute masterpiece. Everything about it is perfect: direction, photography, colors, costumes, settings, acting… It’s in the tradition of old Hollywood horror movies, and is sure to last. And there’s no CGI!

Sad to hear of the passing of Jim Hamilton at 67. Jim and his business partner Kenny Penman [starting with the Science Fiction Bookshop and later Forbidden Planet] were a huge part of the Scottish comic community and industry along with AKA Book & Comics.
