My favorite memory from 2025 was seeing our kid start pedal biking after a day and a half. She had used a strider bike before. Little ripper 🥹
This post really resonated with me. So much AI enthusiasm and very real concern at the same time in the tech industry...what are we running toward? nolanlawson.com/2026/02/07/w...

Mamdani: "I speak of Renee Good, whose final words to the man who murdered her were, 'I'm not mad at you.' I speak of Alex Pretti who died as he lived, caring for the stranger. ICE shot him bc he did something they could never fathom ... let us offer a new path: one of defiance through compassion."

“Accessibility is necessary infrastructure.” Accessibility is political. “It has always been defended by people who chose to act anyway.“ We can uphold good design practices with inclusion at their core.

Thank you for writing, @annaecook.com!
I spent the past month examining how accessibility in design underpins digital infrastructure and how federal divestment creates brittle, inaccessible platforms.

This backslide isn’t inevitable. We can reject it and do better in our work. I explain how in this piece

Accessible design is digital infrastructure — Anna E. Cook
What America by Design reveals about how public platforms fail when maintenance, governance, and accountability are treated as optional and how we can do better no matter our job title.

We booked tickets to a music festival on Orcas Island this summer and it’s fun to think of something that builds community and inspiration instead of all the fascist BS going on.

My diet lately has been entirely driven by cravings. This morning it’s European hotel breakfast, and we are not equipped! I’m gonna need some arugula, fancy cheese, and Brioche pronto.

"ICE will leave Minnesota if you hand over your voter rolls" tells you everything you need to know.

This was never about immigration or fraud. It was always about rigging elections.

Norwegian PM Støre says Trump repeatedly raises—complains about, pleads for, and demands—the Nobel Peace Prize every time they meet. Støre gives same answer each time: decision is made independently by Norwegian Nobel Committee, with no role for Norwegian gov—a concept Trump appears unable to grasp.

A competent opposition political party would cut together the footage of what ICE had been doing in the twin cities with Mike Johnson saying "ICE is doing what ICE is designed to do" and have it in ads all across the country
Mike Johnson comes out against additional guardrails on ICE as Democrats call for it.

“I think there's a lot of Democrats playing games right now with national security and with law enforcement. And I think it's dangerous. Ice is doing what ice is designed to do by its very name.”
