Its so demeaning to the life of work they put into their art, and it must suck to have to argue that your work is in fact your own.

We have a lot of public debate about child abuse, but very little of it seems to include the perspective of the survivors. It's almost like we think their opinion on it doesn't count for some reason. But also, they're almost never free to speak in any kind of candid manner.

One of the many reasons we have to fight the rise of the far right is the risk they pose to undoing the progress we *have* made.

Yeah this. If you take “death threat via song lyric citation“ seriously, which under some circumstances we have to (because otherwise people will use that loophole on purpose), then you still need to react to this faster than a month later. Getting actual death threats isn’t exactly great.
As a former moderator, I do respect that this played out like it did (the nuance of "what is a death threat and what is a song lyrics" can sometimes be confusing) but it seems like your mod team is a bit over their skis if they're responding to something they think is a death threat a month later?

I get why a lot of non-disabled people want to pretend respiratory illnesses don’t exist, but as we’re coming up on another event I can’t safely attend, I encourage you to just THINK about wearing a mask at events - or at least on the train/ plane there, where there’s probably no reason not to
