London Mayor Sadiq Khan on why the Far Right lie about London crime: “They don’t want our modern, multicultural, progressive metropolis to succeed because they can’t stomach the truth. London is a place where people of every creed, colour and culture live together in peace and mutual respect.”

Mowing leaves is quite satisfying. Just as well given how many are still on the oak 🫣😅

It blows my mind that there are real people who see a post like this and actually believe the whole “Christmas is being cancelled by Muslims” BS 🙄

Let’s have a quick look at what’s happening to Sheffield so you can put your Express reading uncle’s mind at ease!😆

Beautiful walk in the early sun. Loads of wildlife: 2 roe deer and a further 4 later on, a couple of pheasant, yellowhammers, a buzzard and a kestrel.
Tawny owl visited the nest box again yesterday too, dropping off its breakfast at 0630, picking it up again at 1730

Asylum seekers, housed in hotels in Manchester, are reaching out in their own words to address the concerns of the local community.

Please take a minute to read their letter, & share it with the people in your life who need to hear the truth about the people they are protesting.

So that's another rights of passage ticked off: WorkerSprog has had his first IKEA furniture delivery.
Even with the extra hour in bed, I don't think he was quite so excited when it arrived at 07:02 this morning 👀🫣🤣

It is sometimes hard to grasp the full consequences of what someone said aloud.

We can argue about immigration policy, who can come or not come to the UK all we like. But this is wholly different - people who came to the UK legally, through the laws at the time and settled here, must “go home”. /1
The more I think about her actual words, and how appallingly under-reported/understood they still seem to be, the more shocked & disgusted I am.
Given Lam's appalling comments, the UK government needs to make it free for those with permanent leave to remain to obtain British citizenship, to promote people making the change, and to make it quicker.

They need to do that to remove understandable anxiety.

Requiring immigrants to have a standard of English far higher than the vast majority of the population is utterly insane. The country has taken leave of its senses

Migrants will need A-level standard English to work in UK
The tougher rules will come in force in January as part of wider plans to cut immigration.

Fantastic work @folklorewales.com
Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵
