This poor lil guy.
I send him love.
I have no words for this:

“The goalkeeper told me I’m an illegal immigrant even though I was born in America, and he said Trump was gonna get me and send me back.”

How is destroying the spirit of our children making this country great?

Who will repair their trauma when this is over?

Sickening.

In order to obtain a religious exemption for vaccines, you should have to provide evidence from your religion that proves it’s against doctrine.

And you’ll be SOL, because the major global religions have overtly supported vaccines, and the very scarce ones that don’t represent a tiny fraction.

Thank you, @keeganosinski.bsky.social, for being the one to say something i have often thought while preparing lunches but never would have the chutzpah to actually *say out loud*.

1/9 When a federal official tells a city’s police force to “surrender,” that’s not law enforcement guidance; it’s a red flag. Minneapolis deserves clarity, not commands that echo moments of regime collapse in world history.

"[T]echnocracy is still the prevailing myth. It promises immediate gratification of immediate needs, even if these are artificially created. Technocracy, however, is not a Messiah for the future, but a Santa Claus for the present—and for the majority of people it does not deliver the goods." 1/

They talk about being "allies", but then they demand the party earn THEIR vote when elections for them have always been like sitting on Santa's knee and demanding a pony.

Voting for a Democrat has never benefitted ME.

But here's the trick: It's not supposed to.

It benefits the marginalized.

Lt. Gen. Honoré: Elon Musk is a national security risk.

"If the federal [probes] demonstrate deep connections to China and Russia, the federal gov't should consider revoking Musk's security clearance. It should already be thinking about using alternatives to SpaceX." www.nytimes.com/2024/12/29/o...

His cozy relationship with Chinese leaders and reported contacts with Russian officials is a cause for alarm.

Juicy cherry in smoky, musky wood & softly pungent balsam. Cherry fades quickly, but leaves a fruity shadow. The sweet, smoky, balsamic woodiness is soooo good. Soft floral center of mostly heliotrope & dark rose. Leans slightly feminine, but anyone could wear it. #fragrancesky #sotd #perfumesky

I like this. More! More!
As we start the new semester, I thought I’d share what I’m doing in response to Chat GPT. While I have a no AI clause, policing it is not productive most of the time.

Instead, I’ve included this automatic 0’s clause in my syllabus that has worked very, very well, feel free to use/modify!

I'm in! I can start on Danish in Duolingo as soon as this is done!
More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland.

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

“I went to war 3 times for America”
-this kept echoing✨
After 3 times at war, I cannot even imagine how you and
other #Vets are feeling! 🙏
As a three-time combat veteran, I get pretty damn hot when a five-time draft dodger like Donald Trump pounds his chest and bangs the war drums.

America is over it.

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.
