Counterpoint: I will die mad at this dickhead about Rubén Tejada and hope he misses by 1 vote.
new @fangraphs.com: When he announced his retirement, I fretted that Chase Utley wouldn't get much of a sniff from BBWAA voters due to his short career and lack of awards. As he enters his 3rd year on the ballot, he's in very good shape for eventual election.

I haven’t donated to a political candidate including Mamdani since 2020 specifically because of the texts. I will not consider donating to anyone ever again unless they stop.
every fundraising text moves me closer to throwing my phone in the river and moving into the woods

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

Feeling vindicated that my fave pharmacy tech confirmed my sense that insurance companies are dropping meds from the formulary more than ever and for seemingly no reason. Love living in this three-scams-in-a-trenchcoat country.

TRUMP: Uh huh
MAMDANI: And breaking down barriers? Reminds me of a certain Broadway show *smiling widely* where they worked together to break a barricade?

TRUMP [after spending 5 minutes with Zohran]: surplus value, it’s a very wonderful thing, very wonderful, and they’re stealing it. Can you believe that?

We’re going to be looking very strongly at the bourgeoisie, what they’re up to

I knew Mamdani would dog-walk this clown but wow.
Trump is now defending Mamdani in response to loaded questions from Fox News. incredible scenes

That's also gotta be part of the math on dropping Hefner, I feel like. Because the Mets running arms into the ground predates Mendoza for sure and a relatively new manager especially should be getting reliable input from a pitching coach on usage.
On his podcast Baseball and Coffee, Adam Ottavino was very critical of Carlos Mendoza and the Mets' management of their pitchers.

This man simply does not appreciate the joy and wonder of being alive and being human.

I’m only being slightly hyperbolic when I say this man and this company are a threat to everything I love and hold dear in life.
