My latest story dives into how structural and social transphobia make trans people more vulnerable to disaster and also shares lessons in community care
After a hurricane, many people worry about losing power. For trans Floridians, it can mean losing access to lifesaving medication and navigating hostility at disaster shelters. But one woman’s hurricane response team is stepping in:

Obviously @climateconnections.bsky.social, I think we do really important work (and I have the audience data to prove it). I also subscribe to @tonemadison.bsky.social & @capitalb.bsky.social
Last thing I’ll say about this for now:

What is the _actually existing publication_ that you evangelize for? That you consistently hype when they do good things, urge people to support, and are a sustaining donor or subscriber to?

This isn’t a prompt; it’s a reminder to hold yourself accountable.

Help us pay more climate reporters @climateconnections.bsky.social there are so many good journalists I wanna bring onto our coverage!!!

Donate: givetoday.yale.edu/campaigns/71...
Other folks have said it, but let me just note that:

(1) lots of talented, must-read journalists have been let go from their jobs over the last year

(2) millions of Americans are abandoning current media outlets and looking for new alternatives

Seems like a sure-fire business opportunity here?

i hate fictional war media but I've been watching lord of the rings bc my partner likes it and it's only confirmed that I hate fictional war media and I think it mostly (especially white/eurocentric fantasy) does a terrible job of giving us any useful insight into how to live better

Much like 2024, Democrats seem to think there’s a binary choice in the 2026 election between voting for Republicans (evil) and voting for Democrats (feckless).

They rarely acknowledge the third option which inevitably harms them the most: staying home.

Did you know a former White House climate advisor flipped a GOP stronghold in Virginia by running entirely on putting a stop to more AI data centers?

For @heatmap.news I profiled John McAuliff and a campaign that will be a roadmap for all future anti-AI politicians moving forward.

John McAuliff ran his campaign almost entirely on data centers — and won.

I was recently talking to a friend who does research admin work and was like could PIs ask for marketing money in grant budget proposals and she was like I don't think that would be allowed and I was like uh yikes?
Most science degrees never require students to learn how to communicate their work to the public. That gap fuels confusion, mistrust, and missed opportunities to protect lives. Let's change it. Sign the petition to make communication + public engagement training a degree requirement. bit.ly/3LbnfHB
