A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

if you want to know what it is like in minneapolis, I don’t even have to scroll on facebook to find a horror story. it’s basically my whole feed.

everyone i know in minneapolis is seeing ICE take people—at gas stations, taquerias, bus stops, schools. just snatching random people.

Just heard an AI ethicist talk about how important it is that we say ‘MEN are using Grok to undress images of babies, children and women’ not ‘Grok is….’. Grok isn’t responsible for the action, the men enabling & using it for this repulsive purpose are. Small but important bit of linguistic accuracy

Dems need to start running right now on a platform of "This is what we are going to do to fix **all of this** and here's why each of our decisions conforms with established law and is informed by the evidence of recent misuse."
Democrats who want to abolish ice should start introducing legislation to roll back the creation of DHS. It was a specific post 9/11 law that combined previously extant functions into a single new department. Let’s start getting that model legislation out there. (Is it already?)

This image is going around with people (correctly) identifying it as Nazi shit.

For context: it is a lyric from an ethno-nationalist anthem most frequently associated with the Proud Boys/their offshoots and ultra-masculine white separatist Männerbundists

Forcing myself to cut down on social media as the frustration is getting to me, but I’m lying here in bed with the rain falling outside, warm and safe and loved, and all I can think of is how I want this for everyone. It’s such an achievable goal!

This is what I want to fight for.

ICE has arrested more than 3,000 people in New Jersey since President Trump took office for a second term. Advocates are pushing lawmakers to enshrine into law a directive that limits cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement.
Immigration Protections Are Uncertain in New Jersey even as Democrats Keep Governorship
Advocates want to promptly codify the limits on immigration enforcement put in place by the outgoing governor. Mikie Sherill, Tuesday’s winner, has declined to say if she

The tragic death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year old mother fatally shot by ICE, shows that ICE can’t be reformed and must be abolished.

I’ll be introducing the Abolish ICE Act as a step toward justice, accountability, and humanity in our immigration policy.

Time to melt ICE.

A reminder that ID checks are basically this for the internet.
A new Florida bill would pave the way for schools to remove any book that mentions sex, from the Brave New World to The Bluest Eye.

Literary, scientific, artistic merit would be stripped from consideration when deciding if a book should be accessible to someone younger than 18.
Florida lawmaker says literary merit doesn’t matter if books mention sex
The big story: The Florida Legislature’s years-long push to add restrictions to school library books hit a bump in 2025, when the Senate rejected a measure to delete consideration of “literary merit” ...

The musician responded, "What about AI podcasts? They have those, now."

No prizes for guessing how Joe reacted.
