What’s happened here is that, by sticking to their guns and refusing to be intimidated and shitehoused, the club and police have thankfully prevented Parliament and the press inciting rioting and running battles in the streets of a major city.

One of the best things about the Vince Gilligan run shows have been their sublime podcasts thanks to Kelley Dixon and latterly Chris McCaleb.

I am glad to report that the official #Pluribus podcast is no exception, truly a film school in your ears.

Because I’m interested in the latter.

Many in politics and media are trapped on X/Twitter, a latter-day Plato's cave, mistaking projected shadows for reality.

No social media platform can be perfect - the 'social' bit ensures that - as people are also not perfect.

But some platforms are better than others.
Tonight's even more proof the mainstream reporters who are still on Twitter are suffering from a brain problem akin Havana Syndrome that is preventing them from accurately doing their jobs. They are being cooked alive by a snuff-focused apartheid algorithm.

The gap between the government, opposition and national press unifying over some ludicrous, wildly irresponsible, insultingly idiotic bullshit and that then exploding in their faces now appears to be down to about two days. I reckon they could manage same-day meltdowns, if they tried.

Football match involving Maccabi Tel Aviv called off due to violence.

Is it anti semitic to call it off in Jerusalem or only in Birmingham?

Message to those who hurled the antisemitism libel around last week. Beware of Karma. She’s a real bitch!

UK PM Keir Starmer who wants to reverse the Maccabi Tel Aviv fan ban at Villa Park Europa game next week said:

"The role of the police is to ensure all football fans can enjoy the game, without fear of violence or intimidation."

Exactly sir Keir, that’s why there has been a ban in the first place.

“I Swear” is just a properly lovely film about some properly lovely people that I can easily see becoming a “Full Monty” style word of mouth hit.

I had wondered how such a story could sustain a 2 hour run time but it definitely needed it to do John’s story justice.

I would like to hear similar sentiments expressed with as much conviction by leading UK politicians.
Macron remarks are notable- some quotes: "We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks that are controlled either by large American entrepreneurs or large Chinese companies, whose interests are not at all the survival or proper functioning of our democracies."
President Macron: “Europeans, let's wake up!

We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks.”

If Labour put 10% as much effort into calling out Brexit as they do punching down at immigrants we'd already be negotiating to rejoin the EU.

Brexit only lacks importance for most voters because of the conspiracy of silence across politics and the media to not connect Brexit-related problems to it.

I mean, there is no war in Portland. There just isn’t. You can’t & won’t avoid reporting this story. But you’ll still find a way to try to report it in a way that gives him the benefit of the doubt.

And that’s wrong.

Can add “One Battle After Another” to what’s now a rather long list from thirty plus years of movie going.
