It's all hands on deck. I am shamelessly asking, one more time, for reposts and signal boost as this bird glides toward a landing in a few hours. It's gonna be a beautiful book, and there aren't going to be very many available afterwards!

i have posted before that i think you are an artist before you ever make a painting or song or book. i understand it is a unique perspective and that is okay, but i am thinking on it again after seeing post from buckaroo @scalzi.com specifically how it relates to my perspective on grief and death
Proposition: You become a writer the moment you write, a musician the moment you make music, a painter the moment you paint, etc. You become an artist the moment you find your own voice as a writer/musician/painter/etc.
Yes? No?

The world may be on fire but #Bonktober has been making me smile all month. If you haven't been following along, give @lekroox.bsky.social a look or scroll through the hashtag.

The same sculpture on a tomb and on a hearse. A funerary standard…? 🤔 I’m afraid so — these aren’t the only copies of this figure I’ve come across 😉

As an agnostic who long ago lost patience with organized religion seeing things like this still makes me smile.
The pagan-friendly Anglican church in my small, rural English village would have no problems with Episcopalians! Here, for example, is our vicar blessing a pagan Obby Oss (performed by my husband) before a Beltane procession: our annual pagan/Christian/all-faiths-and-no-faith May Day celebration.

RIP Drew Struzan - a man whose talent and imagination etched onto so many minds throughout the last 40+ years.
His art & posters are some of the first visuals I think of when I think about cinema - an invitation to watch these stories and worlds.
A massive loss 💔

Four originals by Ernest Chiriacka. I think it's amazing when artists can think / create so well in both two and three dimensions.
