It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Folks, you can't report the United States to its manager. There's no superhero coming to save us.

We don't need one giant act of heroism. We need millions of small acts of solidarity. Help one person in your community for nothing in return. Then, do it again. And again.

That's the revolution.

the mythical centrists everyone wants are always vaguely described but seem to be a bloc of white, straight, middle class suburbanites who've been voting gop since eisenhower. if "cosigned by cheney and ready to fund the police" didn't win them, you're left with running a republican to win them.

the reason we don’t have discourse about a crisis of femininity is that any attempt to construct one would collapse under the absurdity of its outmoded gender essentialism, suggesting that masculinity is not so much in crisis as the uncritical belief that masculinity even exists is itself the crisis

Interesting. New contracting memorandum from Secy of Defense says military contracts shld stop including language that bars contractors from running segregated facilities.

When ordered by Nazis to give lists of disabled people by disability severity, some doctors sent back exaggerated data to protect patients from forced work

They didn't know that the "most disabled" were to be killed first
