Random Masters of the Universe thought: the one addition I did NOT like that 2002 brought to the canon was the idea that "The Masters of the Universe" and "The Evil Warriors" are the official names of the opposing armies. Even in-universe that's a bit much.

Maaaaaan, I remember when Ice Cube could top the charts one week, then Johnny Cash, then a bunch of Gregorian monks doing chants, then Eastern European throat songs with a trance backbeat. Every one of them played on MTV. That was why the '90s ruled.
Both these options sound objectively amazing, why do racists keep assuming everyone's racist?

heck, in my childhood, video of any kind was a luxury ("Did you hear? The Bowdens bought a VIDEO!"). if I wanted to revisit a movie at home, I'd play a record of someone reading the story aloud, while flipping through a photo picture-book.

Speaking as one of the most dedicated fans of Masters of the Universe, I'm gonna say it....Skeletor as the embodiment of toxic masculinity is absolutely the correct take. Whichever iteration you go with, his defining characteristic is that he feels he is owed everything, and everyone else is an NPC

When I was a kid I experienced Sesame Street in its US and UK versions. From the US versions, I deduced, "Oh, people also speak Spanish in America."
To reject the US as a fundamentally American country with a deep shared history and commonality with the rest of the Americas, including that Spanish has long been our de facto national second language, is on a deep level anti-American. It's hating actual American culture and history and tradition.
