More good news: Sales at Pike Place Market were up 7.2% in October! Or to quote the PDA's own words the market has had "exceptional sales performance of our tenants." (pikeplacemarket.community.highbond.com/document/fd1...)

📈 So far every month of the pedestrianization pilot sales have been up!

Shocked to see that the most obvious thing ever has happened.
Good news: Sales at Pike Place Market were up 9.7% in September! That's four months of solid data showing the pedestrianization pilot is good for business.

Add your ideas for how to keep the momentum going this fall and winter: actionnetwork.org/letters/pike...

I also wish more people were discussing this. For a few years, experts familiar with the Guyana-Venezuela situation have been warning that it would be where WWIII begins. British, American, and Chinese interests in the Guyana oil patch that Venezuela claims have been simmering for awhile.
Something I see a lot of folks missing in discussions about what's happening Venezuela, particularly around oil, is the role U.S. oil majors' interest in Guyana—and the threat Venezuela posed to it—has in all of it. Explainer here: drilled.media/news/guyana-...
The U.S.-Venezuela-Guyana Oil Triangle
The U.S. interest in Venezuela isn’t just about the oil there, but also about the oil next door in Guyana, and the U.S. oil companies that have staked their future on it.

The next time someone proposes elaborate tech that is supposedly equivalent to taking X number of cars off the road, counter with a policy that *actual* cars off the road.
Today in the New York Times:

"One year after the start of congestion pricing, traffic jams are less severe, streets are safer, and commute times are improving for travelers from well beyond Manhattan."

Mark Kelly is an American hero who bravely served his country for decades. The US military exists to protect Americans' free speech—not suppress it. Hegseth and Trump clearly don't understand this, and the use of military resources and funding for a sham censure is a disgrace.

A fresh tortilla scooping up refried beans or green chile is maybe equivalent... Not as simple / ubiquitous though.
I don't think there are many finer things to eat than a slice of warm bread, fresh out of the oven, with butter. I say "slice"; it's very hard to stop at one...

Walz: "We've got conspiracy theorists, right-wing YouTubers, breaking into our daycares, demanding access to our children. We've got the president demonizing our Somali neighbors and wrongfully confiscating funds that Minnesotans rely on. It's disgusting and it's dangerous."

Hey @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social - Greg is 10,000% right about this.

X is irredeemably toxic, and keeping your office and the other city accounts there sends a terrible message and does a terrible disservice to your constituents.
@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social, could you please establish an official NYC Mayor account on Bluesky and post everything your office is currently posting on X over here?

And please remove all city accounts from X, which has become a CSAM creation and distribution site?

No money for Musk, ever, please.

Regular (as in daily/ weekly, rather than one time events) winter recreation activities - XC ski grooming, skate paths, snowshoe loops, walking paths / loops, etc).

Clear sidewalks, too.
Available outdoor dining, clear bike paths, winter recreation opportunities.

Members of Congress: stop posting online and APPEAR, PHYSICALLY on the steps of the Capitol to decry this unconstitutional violation of domestic & international law. SHOW THE PEOPLE the level of danger we are facing as a country.

Say this louder for the people in the back! Walz is a moderate, and while I appreciate that he's governor, let's not forget that he gets pushed by the WOMEN in this state.
tim walz won his governorship by running as a pro-pipeline moderate who was in touch with rural people

he got pushed to the left by the house DFL caucus and Minnesota organizing
