Since Freddie arrived, my study has been his settling room and I've worked downstairs. During this time, he's worked out that a) my office chair is the nicest place to nap and b) if I come in and sit in the office chair, he can jump onto the desk and and be at the perfect height to receive fuss.

Happy Birthday to the beautiful @lucysmooshy.bsky.social! It’s been such a wonderful day and I’ve loved a chance to spoil them.

A few more photos from Mary Shelley's House Of Frankenstein, which was super camp and great fun. Although the "scary basement" actually was VERY scary in a Silent Hill sort of way, and it turns out that I'm not nearly as brave as I thought I was 😅

One of my presents from Antony is my first ever weighted blanket, and oh my god. I've just got underneath it for the first time and I might never get out again? I am so nicely compressed!

Celebrating my birthday with a bit of Frankenstein in Bath 👌

"I swear, when I picked the movie, I didn't know that Andrew Garfield would be naked this much," I tell my spouse. "But I'm not complaining."

I finally planted all the bulbs in the front garden. Let's hope the plan I followed (chuck them in holes at random and hope) turns out nice in the spring because apparently I really don't like planting bulbs 😅

Leaning out of my bedroom window at 1am to breathe the night air, and consumed by the scent of the night and the sense memory of doing the same when I was seventeen.

TikTok has decided that I ship Aragorn and Legolas.

I do not.

But let it never be said that my mind is closed to new ideas.
I don't know what changed but I have suddenly today found myself on the "unhinged LOTR fan edit" side of tiktok.

I am very happy about it.

Am I really going to restart Dirk Gently again? Again?

(Yes.)

Happy Partially Muscled Skeleton Day to all who celebrate. Be sure to let all your screams out and then disappear.

Boy some people *really* don't like it when you set boundaries around your time, huh.

I think it might be time to pay a visit to my GP.

Friends who have experience with anxiety medication, I would be very grateful to hear about it (DMs are open, if you prefer.)
The theme of 2025 has been "debilitating anxiety" and I would really like that to stop, please.

He's still not hungry but I suspect he's on the mend.

Freddie hasn't been very well today (he's been sick a couple of times and has been off his food) and I know that this is probably normal for a cat who has been through so much disruption but I am nonetheless *out of my mind* with worry.

Freddie is not much of a box cat so I moved the blanket I made him onto a chair, and he's currently curled up and sleeping on it 🥹
Everything is ready for Freddie to come home tomorrow. His blanket is done and inside one of the many hiding places we've made in his settling-in room (in this case, a cardboard box.) Tomorrow is a Big Day.

Trying to think of things to say about Samuel Barnett's new podcast without sounding like a creepy perv.

(It was good. I liked it. But then I would listen to Samuel Barnett talk about literally anything.)

The last couple of days have been amazing but they have also been A LOT and the overwhelm has hit with the force of two freight trains.

Well, the "scared of everything" stage didn't last long.

Freddie update: continued shouting but also more napping today, and the salmon lick-e-lix are a definite hit.
