ps. it is arguable that Brianna would not likely have turned to social media for friendships and transitional support had those things been readily available in her local area.

@charlotte2153.bsky.social you want kids like Brianna off her phone? then give them a better alternative.

@charlotte2153.bsky.social they talked about everything, all day every day. She helped some of them access transition support and healthcare - a thing which your government is banning from trans youth in her country now.

They even risked contempt of court by posting her killers names before trial.

i think the most sick thing about govt going all in on Esther's phone shit after her daughter was murdered in a crime which had not nothing to do with phones

... is that I spoke to Brianna's friends. On Tiktok. They were everything to her - you want to take that away from other kids like Brianna?
Do you not think it's bizarre to have strangers on the internet decide they know better than Brianna's own loved ones on what is or isn't insulting to her memory?

I've got no time for Rosie Duffield, but she turned up at a drop-in event in Parliament and that's been the limit of her involvement.

Holy shit!!!

Michigan State Medical Association has accredited anti-trans hate group, Genspect, as a training org for new doctors learning about trans health - and they’re using a video of Helen Joyce - a grotesque ‘gender critical’ transphobe - as one of their training resources!!! 😳😳😖
7. Genspect markets Joyce’s lecture as a lesson on “how ideological beliefs have replaced objective standards,” and that viewers “will come away with a deeper understanding of how to defend evidence-based practice.”

"Just ask yourself, would the BBC champion a presenter who was consistently asking robust questions about the effect of the recent Supreme Court judgment on trans rights? Or would they be more likely to champion someone who was clearly gender critical?"
The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

In our article:

From allies inside of Tavistock:

“Gender criticals claim they have been silenced, but they have been platformed in media and given words in articles, and space in interviews,”

I can say with confidence, having not even watched the BBC, that no trans person has been on this week. There are two reasons I can do this:

1. The BBC never has any trans people on to discuss trans people or our rights or anything.
2. If a trans person was on, we'd have heard about it very loudly.

I came across a clip from yesterday from LBC of John Sopel and Emily Maitlis talking to Shelagh Fogarty about what's happening at the BBC and they all conceded the complainant DID have a point about the BBC's pro-trans bias and it was just three people being transphobic for a couple of minutes.

So now we have a confession that that the so-called ‘investigation’ into the Tavistock was nothing more than a way to get it shut down.
Trans kids have died since then, because they can no longer get the healthcare they need.
This is on you @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social

A group of powerful national journalists choosing to single out the healthcare of a vulnerable minority for a campaign of intense laser-like scrutiny would, in an humane society, be described as an insane radicalised pogrom.

But on Normal Island, that's a Wednesday.

Remember, when journalists just let trans people live their lives in peace, it’s “ideological capture”, but when they use their own personal anti-trans beliefs to lead a campaign to close down the only place in the country trans youth received healthcare, it’s absolutely fine, nothing to see here.

For years, I’ve known that Maitlis was a key player in the institutional and orchestrated attacks on Trans+ youth

Now, emboldened and clearly unrepentant, she's flaunting her complicity

The world can now see her for who she is - someone willing to weaponise their power against the vulnerable

I can't adequately express my fury and disgust at Maitliss, Barnes et al.
Staggering arrogance, personal prejudice and there being nobody at the BBC prepared to challenge their errors led them to do the opposite of journalism.
As a consequence, children in despair took their own lives.

When Rosie Duffield is in on it I think we can safely say the anti-phone campaign in Brianna's name is actively at odds with tackling transphobia

"Are there even any-" it doesn't matter. Banning the few trans athletes isn't the point. The point, from Trump's ban on trans people in government to Britain's bathroom ban to Newsom's sports ban, is to make sure everyone knows trans women are OTHER and to act accordingly to us in their daily lives.

It’s suddenly an outrage and a travesty when it’s *you* that’s getting your balls kicked, isn’t it. Everything being captured by roaring crackpots was just fine, when it was only small people who don’t matter getting stomped by them.

Not a single reference made by Prescott about pro-trans “bias” was substantiated.

Prescott did the same thing the BBC does in reporting on trans topics:
- ask a handful of transphobic ‘gender critical’ ideologues for their opinions
- ignore evidence
- publish their bigotry verbatim as “facts” 😖

Transphobia and gender-critical ideology are hateful beliefs held, and bankrolled, by the privileged and wealthy

And Labour is far from innocent too

Yes, Nadia’s words are powerful, but we can’t ignore that her party continues to legitimise and contribute to the dehumanisation of Trans+ folk
I imagine @nadiawhittomemp.bsky.social will be getting the usual abuse for speaking out - solidarity with her and all those fighting against hate manipulated by the wealthy right gleefully creating a distracting wedge issue

Sing along kids: At the top level, the business of the British press is recruiting crackpots and wingnuts to attack and stomp on people their staff despise and want to harm. There is seldom any higher or more noble purpose at work.
