It’s hard after a loss to dust ourselves off & look to the next battle. However our community + allies need to & @goodlawproject.bsky.social are taking up our cause through our fucked legal system. They may not win, but we will definitely all lose if they can’t appeal.

Today’s High Court ruling found trans employees may be segregated in British changing rooms and toilets. I’ve written to my union, @actorsequity.bsky.social , to ask how we’ll be fighting to ensure govt guidance doesn’t permit that. British actors deserve dignity at work and that means *all* of us.
But devastatingly, this ruling also found that trans people may be expected to use a third toilet when at work. This risks outing them, violating their privacy, and is unworkable for many employers. [2/3]

Should the Green Party (or anyone else keen to stand up for trans rights) want to issue a statement of their own demanding the government act, this is an excellent text to imitate.

We've written to Bridget Phillipson to point out she's legally obliged to reject the EHRC's draft guidance

The Government committed in its manifesto to “remove indignities for trans people”. We're asking that they take steps to protect the trans community & correct what the Supreme Court got wrong

You all saw the guidance that went out yesterday for trans kids in schools. Absolutely horrific stuff.

This is how the right wing papers are covering that news. Times, Mail and Telegraph all have it on their front page, the first two as their main story of the day.

Guardian's coverage included

One thing I wanted to point out is the oat not milk decision is the Supreme Court faithfully giving full effect to assimilated EU law; it’s the opposite of what happened in Scottish Ministers.

My kid is in the background, chatting to me about her day as I type this. I am distracted & feeling sick.

I'm trying not to cry.

I don't know what to say to her.

She's already been failed so many times.

Its so fucking unfair.

Labour's Manifesto promised to ban conversion therapy. But I defy anyone to explain how, looking at the totality of its policy platform, Labour's real policy is anything other than promoting desistance.
Labour continues to troll the trans community - and to prioritise pleasing the right wing press. We know Hilary Cass was selected for her transphobic views: Kemi Badenoch told us exactly that.

So why is she running trans policy for Labour?

They dont even have to have headlines sound like they make sense anymore. Just whack all the buzzwords in and clearly steer the prejudice-filled reader toward the conclusion they have already come to; largely because they've invested too much into transphobia to backtrack now.

Hey @nadiawhittomemp.bsky.social , @racheltaylormp.bsky.social I was in Commons chamber this afternoon listening to your speech.

Given that we were discussing the harms of Section 28 and the progress made in dismantling it, I left feeling shocked that your government will impose a new one.

Trans folk and allies, flood this. It won’t stop them doing irreparable damage to trans kids in schools but in twenty years when this gets studied we’ll be able to say they knew the consequences and how poorly received it was.

it's a deeply misogynist institution. there's no mystery.

as per-usual the transphobia that you all ignore is the big giant flashing red warning sign of a clue.

where there's transphobia there's misogyny. always.

The entire Tavistock scandal was over 8 complaints. They've fucked the entirety of trans and non binary peoples, because of 8 complaints, all of which have not materialised into anything as far as I can tell.

Laura Woods is a Terf. Laura Woods also said this to/about a Black cis woman - "‘The women’s game should be by women for women,’ is one of the most damaging phrases I’ve heard. It will not only drag women’s sport backwards, it will drag women’s punditry in all forms of the game backwards.”

“biological sex” is a creationist trope and the supreme court is a disgraced
Spectacularly poor reporting by BBC. Framing for how they represent Sex Matters and LGB Alliance arguments compared to @transactualuk.bsky.social and @stonewalluk.bsky.social alone is hostile, but it's added to by a embedding offensive narratives about trans individuals.

His government threw trans people under the bus, attack disabled people, introduced draconian protest laws, and a Reform style immigration policy.

Partner just flubbed & referred to chicken strips as chicken strippers. My immediate reaction was to start unzipping my hoody whilst clucking to tune of The Stripper, occasionally doing a little arm flap.

This is either the reason we’ve been together for over 10 years or why we won’t make it to 11.

McSweeney has resigned. This changes nothing for two reasons:

1) Starmer still looks weak (because he is weak) by not firing him.

2) Pretty much everyone else in this current government is a massive twat.
