I recorded an episode last night for The Legion Project with my cohost, Peter. For those who may not know, The Legion Project is about the Legion of Super-Heroes comic books published from 1984-1989, otherwise known as volume 3 or the Baxter run. Peter and I have been doing this for 8 years now, and the episode we recorded was about issue 50 of the comic book run and is the 66th episode overall.

When I was 17, a buddy and I were watching The Rocky Horror Picture show. During the gay sex scene I made a noise about how "yucky" it was.
My buddy didn't even turn his head when he said "We don't need to do that, I know your not gay but it's cool if you are"

Happy 72nd birthday to Alan Moore who was born on this date in 1953.
Hands down, he is my favorite comic writer of all time.
He was the writer who made me realize in 1984 that comic books I had enjoyed since four years of age could be literary masterpieces.

Last week, Kitra and I went to see Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. Overall, I enjoyed this dramatized snippet of his life as he struggled to record the songs for Nebraska, which is a very fine album, btw. But, there were a few scenes that really got to me. Throughout the movie, we get to see Springsteen's memories as a young boy and his dealings with his father, which were shown in black and white.
