So I didn’t get that job. On one hand it frees me of a difficult choice between integrity and money, but on the other hand now I have no money, either. Things are grim.

Also… I enjoyed STRANGER THINGS 5 and disagree with people who think it was subpar. But I don’t feel the need to go to every forum and reply to their comments, or argue with them about it.

They feel it’s imperative they do so. And everywhere possible.

I also hate that a lot of this absolutely batshit STRANGER THINGS theory is based on the assumption this was a blah or even poor season when it was not. Not at all. Did it reach the heights of seasons 3 and 4? No. That’s an impossible standard. It has to end storylines, not surprise with new.

The best argument anyone has made against this ludicrous STRANGER THINGS theory is when one of my friends here wrote that Netflix sold $25 million movie tickets to people under the assumption they were paying to watch the final episode where.

one of the strangest fandom culture moments is going down right now; a section of the Stranger Things fanbase have convinced themselves that the last episode wasn't the *real* finale, & that there are cryptic clues hidden in the background of the series hinting at a secret *real* finale to air today

The first black character to get his own comic book was Lobo, a Civil War veteran turned Wild West gunfighter. It was published by Dell Comics in December 1965 & lasted 2 issues. Many distributors had sent back cases of the comic unopened.

Last RP: I’d like to point out that even if they never see publication and even if I’m the only person ever to read them I’ve written 2 complete novels and a 140-page screenplay plus about 20 short stories and none of them are AI.

Just before X-mas, an old high school friend popped up on social media and announced he'd finished his first novel.

I didn't know he had aspirations to write, so it was surprising but in that good way where you realize someone has other sides to them and it's intriguing.

But wait~

I could watch the death of the dancing robot in its jaunty fedora and the guy who kicks himself in the balls with a robot together on a loop all day.

Gotta love that newspaper comic strips are good again. And only that about newspapers.

Also the final episode of MASH was the STRANGER THINGS finale of the 80s. It was like 9 months long and yet HALF THE ENTIRE NATION WATCHED IT.

Some of my favorite MASH episodes are the ones where Korea is so cold everyone moves into the Swamp for the night and they have this cozy sleepover. That was my 6 year old self’s dream sleeping arrangement: in a big tent with all your friends and family, toasty with howling Siberian winds outside.

I agree. One of the few bright spots for me last summer was rediscovering MASH and going deep and realizing just how good it still is. There will always be iffy things and weak episodes, but it absolutely holds up and I put it in the same rank as any of today’s acclaimed shows.

i think folks look at people's adulation of MASH and think "it must be good...for it's time" and like, yes, there are some things that are dated in it (esp first couple seasons, klinger) but it's NOT just good for the 70s-80s. it's good PERIOD. it's fresh in ways i can't emotionally quantify haha
i cannot tell you how often i think back to MASH when writing. that ability to walk the line between humor and the darkest of humanity, yet never truly cross over into making light of it OR hopelessness--even though it toys with those things, too--is the line i strive for
