But on the other hand, this idea of just asking anyone to vet your passport is weird and off-putting.

Thanks! If they were in the same city and didn’t have this deadline to do this before I start it wouldn’t be an issue. But asking random strangers to witness legal documents? Weirdness.

Nope. I’m on the west coast solo.

Oh maybe I’ll get a job interview if I apply for 100 more jobs. I’ve applied for 1000+ and this was the only job I got. And I really can’t go back to my little room and sit there alone not knowing what to do.

I’m so tired. I know it’s rough all over but this is my entire life. Even in get times I’ve struggled and I really don’t see a path forward now.

And this is the millionth time I’ve hit this wall. I’m so tired of battering my skull against it. Me against the world with only concerned onlookers as life whips my ass.

They want this all done by December 12 and I’m stuck. Very discouraged and disappointed and ready just to give up. Money hemorrhaging, deeper and deeper into a hole I go. I’m not even getting call backs for job interviews anymore. Just application stage rejections.

But what really burns me up is how useless the company is. They should have alternate ways. They’re the ones who are supposed to verify your docs anyway. I passed the bg check. I have my sub license. Why can’t they let me do this when I start work? In person?

If some stranger came up and said let’s go on this portal and you swear to the government I’m not committing fraud… would you? I have no one out here who knows me. Doctor won’t. Notary won’t. I can’t keep asking random people this weird request. And have them getting pissed at me.

All they can do is ignore me or say no, right? Gave it a shot. You know I’m a killer writer. Or you should know.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by the hideous ubiquity of AI slop I strongly recommend looking at breathtaking art that predates the written word and crying at the enduring beauty of human creativity for a bit.

Plagues, wars and ice ages haven't stopped us, neither will robots who suck at painting.
