BREAKING: European Sleeper will start a Paris-Berlin sleeper train from 26 March 2026, after Nightjet pulls out in December.
It'll run via Brussels (with Eurostar connection from London) 3 times a week. This + existing train = Brussels-Berlin 6 times a week. www.europeansleeper.eu/paris

No more noble British tradition than resigning over some nonsense everyone is only pretending to be angry about rather than all of the actually bad things you've done.

Ed Davey says BBC isn't perfect but "remains one of the few institutions standing between our British values and a populist, Trump-style takeover of our politics".

He says the resignations are a chance for BBC to rebuild trust and "not give in to the likes of Nigel Farage who want to destroy it"

'5 SKEINS ROWAN ISLAND BLEND FINE MAYBE POMPOUS' Seller says pompous is the colour, a 'dark avocado' but it looks purple. Maybe they mean aubergine and got confused. Do I want a pompous sweater vest telling me off for dropping food on it?

Some guy shouted Fanny Cradock at me in the street this morning - is it easier than just shouting fanny at random women?
In vernacular British English, any noun can be used as an insult if it feels right. Just looking around my immediate surroundings, 'you teacup' and 'you plant pot' work, but 'you subwoofer' and 'you mousepad' don't. Same with pastries: donut works, cheese lattice doesn't. Nobody knows why.

So much of Labour’s comms is just weird and confusing at this point. Surely it’s really, really easy to decide to offer congratulations/support to a wildly popular left-wing candidate who has just pulled off a historic electoral victory

Nightmare after watching part of Edge of Darkness, where I was using Peck's horrific kitchen to compete in Come Dine With Me

Looked at Edge of Darkness but keep getting overwhelmed by nostalgia/horror. All men! The raincoats! The rain! HP Sauce, old cookers, tinned food, all of it. Can hardly follow the plot

Things universities can make national news for:
- people on the internet are a bit upset about the speaker selection of an obscure student group,
- a member of faculty copy-pasted a sentence of boilerplate methods language in her PhD thesis 30 years ago.
Things no one cares about:
- Bombs.
