Sighs tiredly.. I have written 36 vignettes based loosely on a fictional mythical character. They're roughly written, in a fit of madness, and now I have to rewrite every single one of them.

Send help.. send tea.. and shortbread cookies. Maybe ice cream, and maybe some kind of sugary iced coffee.

We need to talk about cat toys/equipment.

Cat Toys. My house has SOOO many cat toys, that BOTH cats just ignore. I feel like sisal scratch posts were a trick to consumers.

Cat teasers with feathers.. multicolor feathers.. ignored. Tried ribbons (they just eat those. I don't want them eating them

It won't matter. None of it matters because we have a huge problem of seeing children as property in this country.

My son put it best when he was a young kid: "Cats are great because you get happy every time you encounter them. You turn a corner, and there's a cat there, and it's like there's a cat, and that's great."

I always think about it whenever I turn a corner and encounter a cat.

Research shows coyotes in some areas look both ways before crossing roads and show traffic awareness. Between that and owner willingness to sacrifice their cats by leaving them outside (coyote cattle) so coyotes have free meals for their children, no wonder they do so well in sub/urban locales.

My family.. is not great. Awful really. BUT, they accidentally exposed me to things that literally shaped my mind in the most curious ways.
For example: my sister who doesn‘t read a lot, bought me a set of colorful books when I was 10 for my birthday. No idea what it was. It just “looked like”

Get parked in the massive parking lot.. see the shuttle came in behind me and is parked one row over. Gathered my stuff, walked a row over.. and they're already full.

Walked in with Ironic playing in my head.

Listening to the Cultured Bumpkin's rendering of The Christmas Carol being read in an accent that I grew up with. It's lovely and helping this morning be productive. After this, I may go and listen to his MacBeth.

Again, sat here at my desk, in my santa/christmas tree shirt, wearing a big read sequined bow on my head, a string of lit up snowflakes around my neck, my flameless candle flickering on my desk, music in the background & youtube fireplace on my 2nd monitor.
I am REALLY trying to be upbeat, I swear!

Can we set a sub-category for "trauma crocheting"?

Like, I used crocheting to quiet my rambling brain while I was trying to deal with raccoons in the attic and selling my house. And I crocheted the same thing over and over and over.. It was literally a trauma response.

'Here We Come a-Wassailing' linocut print combining the Christmastide Wassail and the Orchard Wassail. The latter folkloric practice is done to awaken the cider apple trees and to scare away evil spirits to ensure a good harvest of fruit in autumn.

I regret not including Ian McShane.
