You know, coming home, and finding things all right, thought not quite the same - like old Mr. Bilbo. But those aren't always the best tales to hear, though they may be the best tales to get landed in! I wonder what sort of a tale we've fallen into?"

Omg it’s been too long.

Fact: coffee at Waffle House is amazing.. but only as long as it’s in a mug IN the Waffle House. Once you leave or it goes in a paper or styrofoam cup, it’s not as good.

Waffle House is the equivalent of a DnD tavern.

Most days when I get a package, they just toss it on the porch and leave. (It's several steps up my porch).

But every now and then, you get a delivery person who cares. I know for a fact George had kind of fallen over a bit in the chair. So they set them up and placed it in George's lap.

One day in their early 20's, they brought me a book.. Said it reminded them of how I see magic in the woods and fae/ghosts/dragons everywhere. I bawled like a baby. I just hope it rubs off on them when they get even older.

The man's name is Nathaniel JP Wills, he's a self-taught Flamenco guitarist, and I managed to snap this photo. It does not do him justice, and unfortunately, I think he mostly plays live venues. I can't find any albums I can get, but he's on youtube, instagram, etc.

So I turned in my nice, more expensive parking pass which had me right next to the building I work in, for the lot 2 blocks away but is cheaper and is taken out of my paycheck so I don't have to worry about it.

My copy of Kitchen Confidential was signed.. I managed to wrangle a dinner at a Joseph Beth in Lexington that he was at. I was literally embarrassed by the Burgoo but I got to hear Bourdain rant for 10 whole minutes about californian vegetarians. It was marvelous.

Honestly.. I do not know what to do with this growing army of crocheted chickens, cats, spiders.. and whatever else I create in my quest to learn how to crochet this stuff. (btw, glitter safety eyes rock)..

A dark blue armchair filled with different sizes and colored crocheted chickens. White chickens, speckled, floppy combs, some with waddles, some without. So many crocheted chickens. A CHONK of a crocheted chicken. Speckled yarn, with a loopy red comb and tail, yellow yarn beak. It's the size of a footstool and took 3 whole skeins of yarn to make.

I know there's a lot going on, but to counter that for my own solace, here is my slowly growing repertoire of animals I can crochet now. My new goal is using a bulky 7 yarn for the spider, & moon glitter safety eyes. I'll likely start that this week.

The 400 mile yard sale is this weekend. Friday I pointed to one I didn’t get a good look at and said, “that’s the one”. We didn’t go to any other yard sale.

I love my instincts. Spot on. Her father had been an artist. I didn’t even get a lot but it will go to good use.
