Yet again I will repost this (because the link periodically trashes itself).

If you are wondering about my extensive backlist, and which book/series might best fit your current reading needs/tastes, I wrote this post for you (boy-band style):

As well as this, I have a piece of creative non-fiction coming out in SWH Magazine at the start of April. It's a very personal piece, which feels a bit scary! swhmagazine.wordpress.com/swh-mission-...

Betty's routine journey to Lerwick as the sole passenger on board turned into a 9-day trial, during which she made a meagre few biscuits and a bottle of milk last

Eventually the Columbine ran aground in Norway near Ålesund, where Betty was rescued by local fishermen

No one has seriously said LLMs aren’t important or that AI is categorically junk.

Some of us have said that there is something bigger than tech. It’s called power — governance, civic norms, etc — & refusal is absolutely part of how we think soberly about that power. Who has it & how they use it.

This is why Minnesotans are begging folks outside the state to keep talking about us.

Please don’t let the world forget we are still in danger.
This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

Reading Liz Moore's The God of the Woods while the Epstein revelations aren't even in the rear-view mirror yet is certainly a thing. (It's really good, though!) #amreading

I'm currently editing and proofreading some really interesting academic research into 1. ways to unpick the impact of state violence on migrant health and 2. rewilding and power. I absolutely love that I get to learn and think about these topics as part of my job!

I know you've heard that a federal judge ordered the release of 5 year old Liam Conejo Arias and his father, and that they're now home.

But did you look at the judge's order?

It's less than 2.5 pages and well worth a minute. "Jesus wept."

Palantir’s stated mission is to defend America. Peter Thiel is a radical libertarian who does not believe ‘freedom & democracy are compatible’.

Yet, the UK is overwhelmingly dependent on Palantir’s services. As a national security threat, this is off the charts.

It’s also the ‘cloud support’ for our nuclear weapons system 🤯
