The story behind my display name is that many people commonly mispronounce my surname as “who” or “how”. It’s actually pronounced similarly to “ho” in Mandarin. Associate my surname with the resounding laughter of 🎅🏽 — and my laughter (bonus if you know the connection to my sign name in ASL!)

Can't help but feel like this is one of the reasons why the Constitution says If a dude in office does an insurrection, don't let that motherfucker hold office again

Bc clearly they cannot be trusted with power & control over the levers of government, & they do not care about democratic constraints

What I wish was made more explicit with the far right promoting pronatalism is that they’re also promoting eugenics.

The Chomsky–Epstein revelations raise an uncomfortable question: do influential intellectuals get a moral pass when their actions contradict the principles they’ve spent decades defending?

Burning down houses and raping their female inhabitants is the kind of imperialist standard operating procedure that Chomsky spent his life condemning in East Timor, in Iraq, in El Salvador. But when ...

I appreciate that some of
you are outraged about the White House absurdity of keeping ASL interpreters out of press briefings — but please don’t call us “hearing-impaired.” It’s a slur. Nothing wrong with using “deaf.” Saves you extra space too.

We all know this is a lie, but can we stop valorizing this shit?

Sleeping this little actually really fucks you up and you make bad decisions. It makes you irritable. It fucks up your memory. It reduces your ability to react calmly and rationally.

Reading is like a muscle that, when not continually exercised, atrophies.

Corollary: America, Fuck Yeah
One hard part of the literacy problem in the United States is there are a lot of people -- some of them with college degrees and beyond -- who don't realize that they are bad at reading

I don't know how to reach those people
