I'm just saying, I think you all underrated Alex Garland's Civil War in any number of ways.
Take some time to read this thread if you can. The depravity and explicit racism of removing this memorial can't be overstated.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

been doing some light reading about the aftermath of the korean dictatorship and I think it's really important that we repeat this to ourselves, to our friends, to our neighbors, to our politicians
Nuremburg trials is the moderate position
He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

"This new recruitment AI is amazing! It's already pre-sorted our applicants into ranked categories such as the preferred list of Nordics, Alpines and Mediterraneans, and then a second list of Undesirables are automatically reported to the Department of Racial Hygiene!"
A new paper suggests a photo can tell a recruiter much about an applicant’s personality

Are we still doing this debunked Russian apologia?
Root issue is that Putin's Russia is ideologically committed to imperial expansion.
The flaw in Western policy was its leaders scaled back on NATO expansion post 2004 in favor of economic & energy deals & "resets" with Russia. This was a mistake.

If Nato exists to maintain peace and protect Europe from Russian aggression, then I would not say it has done a wonderful job.

I think fundamentally the problem with post liberal thinkers is that they seem to assume that vanquishing liberalism results in their enemies being converted or defeated and not becoming radicalized into enemies who no longer extend the mercies they once did.

Ok, now that my internal screaming is done, I'm interested in the ongoing pattern we've seen for a decade now where Disney leadership and execs keep overruling Lucasfilm studio decisions (production, release schedules, even story points) often to disastrous results - and still learn nothing.
whelp, I’ll be thinking about the Steven Soderbergh movie about Ben Solo until the day I die, I guess. we could’ve had it all.

America didn’t win WWII through “inferior tech," it won through organization, integration, and strategy, as well as the myth that Nazi Germany’s “exquisite” weapons outclassed the Allies, and critiques how the media keeps misusing history to sound profound. My latest⬇️

This is deeply embarrassing. I really don't see how US journalism pulls out of its death spiral when you have someone as nakedly corrupt, unqualified and partisan as Weiss installed at CBS as an explicitly ideological move, and then write "Girlboss persecution" nonsense like this.
This is really smart. Amazed at the hysteria over the ascendance of a woman entrepreneur who clearly knows how to cover and sell news and who's not afraid to take on a mob. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

We’re in a moment now where it would be worth people taking three hours to watch Gandhi, particularly the scene of the salt march. There is value to making the brutality of your opponent so plain as day that no one can argue with it. The clarity of that brought down an empire

The US is not going to see a single solitary Won of Korean investment after the shit they've pulled this year.
“Bro sorry we ratfucked you like that but it’s really your fault for taking advantage of us like this by investing in our economy. But hey you can make it right by investing about 21% of your gdp into our economy lol.”

This has less to do with creating games of a specific type, and has more to do with capturing large entertainment mediums. Sports games are an international staple, and much like the Saudi's golf aspirations the point is to get sports franchises, and players, to play ball on their terms.

Lord knows I've had many issues with EA over the years, but this is Bad on a whole other order of magnitude. Kushner and the Saudis as owners. Borrowing a colossal amount of money to even fund the purchase in the first place and then saddling the company with that level of debt. Just madness.
It’s official: EA is going private.
The leveraged buyout will be financed by a staggering $20 billion of debt, which likely means some *aggressive* cost cutting is ahead for EA in the coming months and years.
