Many people were driven into military service because impoverished communities had so few choices for escaping a cycle of poverty, it was the only path by design. This Veteran's Day I think of them, and others who laid down their lives for a country betraying its own principles of "freedom."

when i put my grocery manager hat on this doesn't sound necessarily like they think 'good customer service' or w/e but rather they're terrified the lack of EBT renewal is going to jack up thefts, and they're gonna make the whole chain a PVP zone to prevent it

I'd kind of like him to show up and answer every question, "On the advice of counsel, I invoke my fifth amendment privilege against self incrimination," just so we can clear up that non citizens DO have civil rights and get due process in the United States.
I am currently enduring a classic Doctor Who watch thru, and I just realized that the Thermians in Galaxy Quest sound exactly like the original Cybermen. It may have been kind of a standard classic sci-fi robot voice, but the similarity is remarkable.

The whole family just went together to get our flu and covid vaccinations. (Due to schedules, this is the start of our weekend.) 🎉
We're in Florida, but didn't need an Rx and insurance covered both.
