It looks like the trauma dumpling just broke containment onto reddit, so here's a link to the stickers and magnets if anyone is interested:

Abolish ICE. Destroy their weapons and melt down their equipment. Deny their agents, employees, and bosses all government employment for all time. Remove the agency entirely from the budget and give the money to public libraries and free health care.

I wish everyone would stop acting shocked Pikachu and pretending he was different the first time. Now he's surrounded by alt right memelord trolls instead of traditional civility Republicans, and we're getting his grasping vindictiveness unfiltered. Yes, it's shocking. And he's always been this way!
Not the sort of letter committed to paper by a well man. "Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace"

I JUST saw that today's #Januarty prompt is #insect, so have a quick, just under the wire cicada from last year.

There's this truck stop outside St Cloud, Minnesota, that has bison burgers. The buns could be improved upon, but the burgers could not.

Also I bought the best avocado I've eaten in my life at a grocery store in Barcelona to eat on bread for lunch. It was a religious experience.
Here’s a topic outside the news.

What’s the most unlikely place you’ve ever had the best particular food or drink you’ve ever had?

Like, not the best steak at the world’s top steakhouse. Something weirder.

Best burger I’ve ever had? Fresno airport.

Best cup of coffee? Crater Lake Lodge.

Gorgeous!

(Looking at granny square crochet book sleeve patterns and they all seem to be six larger squares. This looks like FIFTEEN little skull squares plus the sides. Absolute labor of love.)
After probably over a year, mere HOURS before @ktsimpson.bsky.social 's arrival, I have FINISHED the book sleeve I promised her ages ago.

It is not perfect.

But it certainly turned out better than all the times I thought, "well this'll never work."

As happens every time I crochet / sew a thing.

I used to think the word Kafkaesque was overused.
Requiring people to show their papers when the US doesn't issue citizenship documents is interesting.

Minnesota nice was always Minnesota passive aggressive. They've dropped the passive part and aren't holding back with that vicious Midwestern sarcasm.

Big, beautiful tell that the big strong men can't handle mockery.
Oh my god this lady rules. I love this.
Just make fun of these poseurs.

I shared this with my brother, and he decided that Garfield gloating over Dilbert's grave was insufficient. Since apparently nothing is too petty for my family, please feast your eyes on his work of spite.

DoJ massacre underway. Yesterday four attorneys quit because the DoJ refused to investigate Jonathan Ross, and today another six quit because they refused to unjustly prosecute Renee Good's widow.

Pretty soon DoJ's going to be nothing but a fascist clown car full of Liberty U grads.
"Six Prosecutors Quit Over Push to Investigate ICE Shooting Victim’s Widow"

Six lawyers in the U.S. Attorney's Office have done what their oath requires of them: resigned rather than participate in building a sham domestic terrorism case against Renee Good's widow.

Hello #PortfolioDay!

I'm a traditional artist working mostly in watercolor plus gouache and ink. My favorite things to paint are critters and decorative art, and I especially love when they meet. Oh, and I painted the trauma dumpling.

If you need a little beauty in your life right now, take a moment to lose yourself in this gorgeous piece that I commissioned from @anyachalina.bsky.social for @autonocast.bsky.social.

I call it "City of Dreams" and I can't wait to hang a high quality print of it in my home.

Just heard an AI ethicist talk about how important it is that we say ‘MEN are using Grok to undress images of babies, children and women’ not ‘Grok is….’. Grok isn’t responsible for the action, the men enabling & using it for this repulsive purpose are. Small but important bit of linguistic accuracy
