Today I had a drama workshop on Antigone with teachers. A play from 2400 yrs ago. And a sentence stuck with me. "I wanted to oppose violence in order to remain human."
This is very much the vibe I take from our RSS course. I hope the wonderful things you build let you feel your strength and power.

Journalism has always been a tough business, but this purge is truly dark.

According to this ranking, Canada’s reputation has improved since 2024. We are now the 2nd most reputable country in the world.

The United States has dropped from 30th to 48th in that same year, the biggest drop of any nation BY FAR. Its reputation-peers are now Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan…

Earlier this year, I met a Croatian journalist who was in the US doing a piece on America’s politics and I asked her what surprised her. And she said, “What you all call the far left is just being normal.”

The Western Australian government is allowing 2% of Western Australia to be fracked… as if that’s not much.

But

2% of Western Australia’s area is approximately 50,598 square kilometres.

That’s about the same size as Costa Rica or Slovakia.

Imagine ALL of Slovakia covered in toxic gas wells.

The social media world is not some alternate reality our children “escape” into – it is the reality they live in. The sooner we accept that, the sooner we can help them thrive within it.

Since the mid 1990s, Norway has imposed a 56 per cent "special tax" for oil and gas companies, alongside a 22 per cent corporate tax rate.

Australia could learn a lesson from this and make companies pay their fair share for our natural resources.
