It's funny because for many fans it must be just a retro video, but for me it's an essential part of Star Wars. 🤩

Such an immersive and magic experience when you're 13 (or 45).
The original STAR TOURS boarding safety video has been living rent free in my head for decades.

“Earthrise."

My favorite photo from the Apollo program, taken on December 24, 1968 - 57 years ago today - by Apollo 8 astronaut Bill Anders during the first crewed orbit of the Moon. A print hangs in my office, oriented as shown here as it's the way Bill Anders saw things when he took the picture.

I laughed when someone pointed out that the ideology of the Maga, Afd and others is very far from the teachings of Christ and that we, mostly non-believers (or low-cost believers), are much more "Christian" than those people, who proudly claim to be. 😅

Ain't a thing wrong with a blue book, maybe throw in an oral examination too, just to keep things poppin'
Does anyone else bristle at this framing? WSJ says blue books are “torturing” students with hand cramps, and “nobody likes them.”

Listen, students have been outsourcing everything to AI and cheating their way through college. Blue books should be celebrated as a return to authentic human learning.
They Were Every Student’s Worst Nightmare. Now Blue Books Are Back.
Cheating with ChatGPT has become a huge problem for colleges. The solution is painfully old-school.

The judge also ordered that teachers have a right to misgender trans youth even when the parents know of and are supportive of their trans child. Just in case you thought this was actually about parental rights.
24 Dec 2025 @rikiwilchins.bsky.social -- Judge overturns CA school policy on outing trans kids, rules parents have right to know & teachers a right to tell them but no mention of child's rights. Case likely bound for Supremes. Weirdly CA law allows abortion w/o parental notification.
Federal judge rules California teachers are allowed to ‘out’ transgender students to parents
The ruling applies to all public schools in California and is a victory for two teachers who claimed that district policies violated their constitutional free speech and religious rights.

I mean, "graduate student in psychology" isn't necessarily a pathway to high level career success and since she's trans it's unlikely she'd find a sympathetic jury in that state (and labour protections have basically been gutted in the US) but yeah, it's still worth pursuing if she's up for it.

So anyway, I just started blasting. At a trans woman and killed her career. And everybody just let me. Turns out when you're "famous" they do let you just do it. I just felt like destroying someone.
Worth noting that the student admits that she just threw the thing together in 30 minutes without reading the paper she was supposed to be responding to.
