Should the economy be regulated by a democratic society to ensure that it creates opportunity and benefit for everyone? Or should it be a plaything for approximately a dozen of the world's most odious assholes? Who knows

QANON CULTIST IN 2017: "In this 1,879 page thread I will unravel the byzantine system of codewords and phrases the global elite use to mask their pedophile cabal."

JEFFREY EPSTEIN WRITING AN EMAIL AT THE SAME TIME: "helo its me jeff had fun cmmitting sex crimes wit u lst weeknd"
pretty funny in retrospect that QAnon hinged on the idea that powerful elites at the highest levels of government were smart enough to talk in code when sending emails to each other about their despicable crimes

Just look at this scene.

No AI slop.

This is what happens when humans use tools to create new things that could not exist before, vs. having a plagiarism machine spit out inferior copies of what‘s already been done.

There are two perpetual delusions, here.

One, obvs, is: millionaires aren't going to leave, they were never going to leave.

But the other is this particularly American dipshittery, where we think the ultra-rich are somehow indispensable to society, when in fact they're very harmful parasites.

Back of the line, shitstain.
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

I’ve never understood why his nickname from the early 2000’s, “the Doughy Pantload,” didn’t stick.
It's important that everyone understand that Ross Douthat has never done anything *except* write slimy op-eds trying to smuggle far-right ideas into the mainstream. From college on. He's never had a real job. He has no skills, no expertise, nothing that would justify his position at the NYT.

If you find yourself losing patience with someone, remember that they are an ape adrift in an alien world, born into a struggle they did not choose, taunted by impulses they cannot control, searching for answers they will not find, and condemned to a fate they do not deserve.

Mamdani is entirely, every inch, a male role model
Republicans thought they had a permanent hold over young men. They didn't.

Spanberger wins men 18-29 by 14%, Sherrill by 10%, and Mamdani by a stunning 40%.

Yup. The thing here is that conservatism *is* bigotry. The core proposition, to paraphrase Wilhoit, is that the law must protect but not bind the in-group, and must bind but not protect out-groups. There is no more to it. That’s conservatism: the legal codification of bigotry.

They like him, and want him to rule us like a king.

No other explanation explains the behavior better.
The media's complete lack of curiosity over our nearly 80 year old President's health when he has permanent bruising on his right hand, swollen ankles, facial drooping, disappeared for days from public view twice in the last 2 months and just had an unexplained MRI is notable

If you are concerned about this remember to address directly it with the person wearing the Meta glasses, rotating with your hips and core for power and aiming through their face rather than at it
New: a $60 mod to Meta's Ray-Ban glasses disables the privacy LED light. This is supposed to light when people are filming with the glasses. We bought the mod, verified it works. Now you can never be sure whether someone wearing Meta Ray-Bans is filming you or not

One of the most-challenging lessons to learn is that human beings really are semi-autonomous meat robots. Not *other* people. Not the people you think are dumb. Everyone. You. Me. The smartest person who ever lived. Apes whose brains got too big, so we constantly hallucinate.
A lot of people can’t read, and even more read like a LLM; they see a few cues and then respond to what they guess is being said.
For a long time I was wondering why there were so many trolls that would deliberately misinterpret things while replying, it was so lazy, then one day it struck me, at least some of those guys are probably just illiterate.

As a local reporter, one of my favorite things is for a town government official to say something wildly inappropriate and then remember I’m in the room, look at me, briefly panic, wave a dismissive hand while saying “of course that’s off the record,” and I get to say, “that’s not how it works.”

A lot of comments on Mars rovers or Moon landings, but it's important to remember that the planet NASA studies most is Earth. This is less about cutting flashy things like moonwalks and more about keeping communities in the dark on climate, weather, agriculture, pollution, natural hazards, and more.
