French troops deploying to Greenland because the United States might try to take it over.

Today in 2026 sentences.
❗️An initial group of 🇫🇷French mountain troops has arrived in 🇬🇱Greenland to prepare for the reception and deployment of the main contingent. French authorities have stated that additional land, aviation, and naval units will be dispatched in the coming days.

I forget which account I first saw it from but they were like: things are complicated but if u replaced both the senate and house dem leaders with literally any normal community member who is showing up on the streets of Minneapolis to try to protect their neighbors, that would be an improvement
We’re so proud of the way community showed up to protect our neighbors today. Just as a federal judge ruled last night, we know that observing and showing up for each other is not a crime. We need everyone to keep patrolling in the streets as we fight against the hate coming at us.

While I remain wildly impressed by the American people, our elected officials are largely failing us. Both parties are failing us.
Congress can stop ICE. Congress can block the use of force in Greenland. In other words, in this crisis, Congress can act to support civil liberties at home and free nations abroad. To fail to act would be to be complicit in a dreadful outcome.

The South Carolina measles outbreak is growing at an astounding speed

More than 500 people are in a 21-day quarantine and about 200 are "actively infected." The largest outbreak currently in the U.S. has spread to at least three other states

you know this guy is a FOR REAL photographer because he's telling the story of his brutal, unconditional arrest by federal goons and can't help but slip in a gear review
Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

Just astonishing good news. We are on the way to end Multiple Sclerosis.

University research delivers. Always has. Now a cabal in the White House is shattering it.
Epstein-Barr Virus #EBV was linked to #MultipleSclerosis - now a plausible cause has been found, misidentification by longterm memory T-cells that pick on the wrong protein, ANO2, instead of the EBV-antigen. Massive inflection towards the elimination of MS!!!

Anoctamin-2-specific T cells link Epstein-Barr virus to multiple sclerosis
Researchers identified anoctamin-2 (ANO2) as a frequent autoimmune target in multiple sclerosis, with T cell responses against ANO2 occurring in over half of patients. These ANO2-specific T cells shar...

Our very moderate Episcopal Bishop in Paris gave both a fiery sermon and spicy remarks at the announcements last Sunday. My church understands the moment.
At last night’s candlelight vigil for Renee Nicole Good, Bishop Rob Hirschfeld of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire announced he had asked the clergy of the diocese to get their affairs in order and to make sure they have their wills written ...,

Respectfully, leaving abusive situations is not “letting the abuser win”. It’s a common, but deeply problematic way to frame any kind of abusive or hostile environment. “Just keeping taking the abuse” is deeply misogynistic

We did something wonderful—eradicated disease. And it took almost nothing to maintain. Then we squandered it.
5 million-plus kindergartners now live in counties where schools don’t have “herd immunity” for measles, Washington Post reporters found.

WaPo also built a tool to look up your own county.

Exceptional, and alarming work by @laurenweberhp.bsky.social @caitlingilbert.bsky.social et al.

We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps:

- It’s ‘voilà,’ not ‘wallah!’
- It’s ‘a lot,’ not ‘alot.’
- It’s ‘further ado,’ not ‘farther adieu.’
- It’s ‘flesh out,’ not ‘flush out.’
- It’s ‘sneak peek,’ not ‘sneak peak.’

No worries if not!!!

This is joy.
Years ago, I used to occasionally DJ at a goth club.

I once played"Conjunction Junction" in the middle of my set and you have not lived until you've seen a group of Goths merrily bopping along to Schoolhouse Rock.
