Today I bade farewell to my valiant oldest green bath towel. Bought when we redecorated the bathroom about 30yrs ago, an original St Michael brand from #M&S, it has finally become hard and lumpy. Now spending its last years on a farm in the country (cut up to use as dusters). Ave atque vale.

There is a clear inconsistency and contradiction, between governments trying to coerce even the sick and disabled into work, and the government promoting AI, which will put large numbers of people out of work. It is like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

We need to have a deep conversation about this, and the lack of joined up thinking, in not only Starmer's UK government, but all Western governments. AI, will put huge numbers of people out of work, that is why Oligarchs are so heavily investing in it.
