I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

I was telling one of my kids that it was physically impossible for an ad to play between songs on any of the records I own, and they asked "and you only have to pay for it once?" and you could see how strange that seemed. You cannot overstate how many basic rules of media consumption have changed.

The areas of medicine where these guys want us to “do our own research” are notably the exact same areas where a) they sell stuff, and b) it’s hard to tell on your own what’s true. Few would say “don’t listen to experts” when looking at a complex compound fracture or someone having a heart attack

It's truly stunning (though unsurprising) how little attention national media give Gov. Walz's speeches and news conferences. He's out there declaring his state under siege, and it's not in headlines outside of MN. They'll cover Trump's lies about him endlessly-- but not his actions.
