Udo Kier, rest in peace. Thank you for all you gave.

Here’s an interview I treasure, when Udo and I talked Swan Song.

This has suddenly made me realize that there could be a Muppet-driven show that functions much like DOCUMENTARY NOW. Like … just imagine the possibilities. Oh my god.
Am I a hypocrite for wanting this after giving a hard no to muppet knives out
Okay, I'm making my case for the only Muppet I want to see on Broadway right now...

Walked past a bar where a group of men were singing Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” like it was the chorus of a jock jam.
Like the girliest song in the bro-iest energy. It was delightful.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

Largely the premise of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, one of the most beloved movies ever made.
i think a lot of us if plucked off the street and sworn in as a senator would do a modestly better job than a lot of our incumbents
all of these people live in a comfortable room-temperature fog of steakhouse dinners, galas held in their honor, and important decisions prechewed for them and fed to them by adoring but interchangable young people selected to be as inoffensive to them as possible by their chiefs of staff.

Soooo I keep rewatching Netflix’s Haunted Hotel. And I get a kick out of the many, many Easter eggs. Like Jaws from Quint being a chomped in half ghost or Abadan going all kid from the Babadook in the backseat of the car.
What others have you noticed?

They’re wearing masks so they can’t be prosecuted later. As long as they think they can’t be prosecuted, their crimes will intensify. They will torture, starve and kill, as they have already, on greater and greater scale.

Signed, someone who’s covered the unaccountable War on Terror for 23 years.
I’ve come to believe that we need to gather considerable forces and a campaign to demand the removal of face masks by ICE, Border Patrol, FBI and police.

It is a practice in conflict with the principles of transparency & accountability that are central to the concept of democracy.

Let’s go
We successfuly bullied Hochul on congestion pricing and we can bully her on many other things, too.
“I know you can’t afford things but we also cannot afford things” will be, I predict, a losing message. The world’s first trillionaire is on the horizon. “We can’t afford transportation, healthcare, food and shelter” will no longer cut it for the “progressive” party.

With IN YOUR DREAMS, Alex Woo delivers a Pixar level film, with a fearless weirdness that makes it child heroes and their dream world emotionally authentic. Very funny and touching, this movie feels rich and personal. Netflix animation is making animated movies to treasure.
