I was a White House ethics lawyer.

I used to advise people not to even accept a free cup of coffee from someone who had interests before them. And staff followed those rules.

I can’t even find the words to describe the scale of Trump’s corruption here.
Foreign countries are bribing our president to sell out the American people.

Trump family businesses made $187 MILLION from this deal, and just months later he gave the UAE some of our most top-secret AI tech.

They are selling our national security to the highest bidder.

Just the other night I was talking with some friends and someone brought up Cory Bernardi. We then had what I thought was a brief but innocent conversation about the former pollie but it seems we had actually summoned him from the bowels of hell where he had been residing. Oopsie. Apols everyone!

I’ve been thinking about how often we say that’ institutional racism isn’t reliant on intent’, which is true. At the same time, it seems relevant to note that there are numerous institutions who intentionally perpetuate and incite racism as part of their core business… and that business is booming.

Left Libs, own failed party...
#BREAKING 🚨 Former senator Cory Bernadi will run for One Nation as their lead Legislative Council candidate at next month's South Australian election

Bernardi was initially a Liberal before forming the now-defunct Australian Conservatives and resigning from the Senate in 2020

Thanks to The Guardian. Gina 💰💰💰who is now shaping and gathering “talent” for far right nativist party One Nation, is also funding Atlas Network-linked Advance & longterm IPA. Liberal Cormack Foundation is also Advance funder. Will Advance back both horses? Is Gina/Advance/ON/LNP ouroboros? #Auspol

And how they regularly vote with LNP and against cost of living/affordability measures.

I wonder if One Nation would still be rising in polls if media bothered to question the fringe views they stand for
Climate denial, against LGBTIQ+, against women’s rights, abortion
Or when they tried to funnel $ from NRA to weaken gun laws
Hype would be over pretty fast #auspol

Every time the Australian mainstream news media refers to the attempted bombing of the #InvasionDay rally as an "incident", I'm reminded of the Klingons telling Capt. Sulu that there'd been an "incident" on the Klingon moon Praxis in #StarTrekVI. Sulu replied incredulously "An incident?!" #auspol

The Libs would be well rid of Antic.

Q: In Texas, a Democrat won a special election in an area you won by 17 points. Your reaction?

TRUMP: I don't know. I didn't hear about it. Somebody ran -- where?

Q: In Texas

TRUMP: I'm not involved. You mean I won by 17, and this person lost? Things like that happen. I'm not on the ballot

Very similar dynamic to now, where people in the Trump Administration keep stating publicly, “I am doing this racist thing racistly because I love racism” and the entire media is like “his motivations, what could they possibly be?!”
There’s a darkly funny chapter after Goetz turns himself in where the cops keep trying to give him an out: “You were afraid for your life, right?”

And Goetz is like, nope, I wanted to kill those teens because they are black.

The guy who did it would not shut up about how racist he was!
