The most shameful language point about school kids in the U.K. is not the number who speak English as a second language, but the number who don’t speak any language other than English.

Even more, the number of adults who don’t.

Google AI doesn't understand that in Europe a decimal point is a comma and a comma is a "thousand" marker.

10/3 is "approximately 3 333 thousand 333."

1000*3 is "three point oh oh oh."

Google Assistant used to be brilliant. AI fucks everything it touches.

Dismal framing. Every aspect of most asylum seekers’ lives is controlled & paid for by the Home Office. They can’t work, are told where to live & have no autonomy or dignity. So they aren’t *choosing* to use taxis & don’t need to be “banned” from doing so. The HO just needs to get its act in order.
Government to ban asylum seekers from using taxis
The ban is set to come in February and any exemptions will have to be signed off by the Home Office.

What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

“I bought it ten years ago for a mil, it must be worth 2 mil by now”…nope!

There are about 30 million homes in the UK. Considerably fewer than 100,000 of them will be worth £2m+.

I actually really don't think it much matters that Farage was a racist idiot at school, really. What matters is how he a) reflects on that behaviour now, and b) what he's learned and c) done in the 40 years since.

And, well... a) Badly, b) Nothing and c) Been a fascist-enabling spiv.

We know why they’re really doing it.
Why do people think England flags have been raised on lampposts?

White adults
National pride: 26%
Anti-migrant/minority sentiment: 49%
Both: 19%

Ethnic minority adults
National pride: 15%
Anti-migrant/minority sentiment: 55%
Both: 20%

It is just false to say that " We have become the destination of choice in Europe, clearly visible to every people smuggler and would-be illegal migrant across the world"

Opposition parties should write to the Permanent Secretary and National Statistician about this

Refugees and "controlled immigration" are seperate issues. The first is a humanitarian issue, the second is an economic one. As different issues, they need different policies. The only ones throwing them into one pot should be the far-right.

Refugees & asylum seekers are largely a vulnerable, traumatised & disadvantaged group of people so to keep demonising & scapegoating them for political gain is disgusting & despicable. The end doesn’t justify this punching down means & in any case the end here seems to be the propaganda itself.

If BBC News was a hotbed of left-wing wokery producing *systemically* biased coverage Jeremy Corbyn may well have been elected Prime Minister in 2019.

It’s not. He wasn’t.

And we got Boris Johnson instead.
