This. I nearly got an Article 15 as a SSG in AFG for kicking a WO1 out of my interrogation booth and the facility after he tried to pull some illegal as hell stupid shit. Fun fact, a WO1 doesn't outrank the JAG with A/V recordings. Don't break the law, kids!
It’s rarely easy to stand up against an illegal order. I did it for something relatively minor (setting up a fake contract in Afghanistan so the unit could have money to pay informants; illegal but not deadly) and it made my commander hate me (more). It’s still the correct, expected thing to do.

The biggest difference between the Stargate film and TV show is that Daniel in the movie smokes weed, and on the show he doesn't. Jack doesn't smoke weed in either version, but he won't narc on you for it in the TV version.
