MAGA has to paint the victim as some lefty sociopath because if white people realize that suddenly, like Black people, they have in common the reality of sudden, violent death at the hands of law enforcement, the Republicans will never win another election.

Logically, every last Dem candidate should be explicity saying, "We are going defund the agency that is killing Americans. They will paint us as being for open borders, but no. We are against kiling Americans and trampling democracy." But nobody will do that. Bet on it.

Problem is that they are afraid of losing on "law and order," so they just play mumbleball because their voters are at home feeling like marauding hordes of people of color are coming to take everything they have.

This is literally what they do whenever a Black person is killed by police. No matter how solid the evidence is, they will keep pushing that lie, not just to poison the conversation and make sure the killer walks free, but to reassert the political idea that these people deserve to be killed.
The shooting is shocking enough but the government's response is off the charts when you consider that this incident is forensically documented on video.
