Stop saying Trump is threatening tariffs on European countries. He’s threatening tariffs on European *products* – but American companies and people will pay the Trump tax.

"And fuck you too if you can't understand how serious this situation is, which apparently you can't because you're sitting here pearl clutching about an f bomb instead of flash bangs in minivans."
KARL: In the hours after the shooting of Renee Good, you went on national TV and said to ICE, 'get the F out of Minneapolis.' Do you regret that language? That doesn't sound like turning the temperature down

JACOB FREY: I don't regret it at all. If I seemed like I was angry and frustrated, I was.

It is election day in Portugal, and it's on a Sunday. Why? Well, so that everybody can vote. Families get dressed up and head for the polling place, then out for lunch afterward. It's a day. Feels so different from the U.S., which engineers elections so that it is difficult for everyone to vote.

And the only way to do that will be what they lacked the resolve to do the first time around. Look at what South Korea did, or Brazil. The U.S. slow-walked the prosecution, then let an activist judge gum it all up so that racist, misogynist or just plain stupid Americans could elect him again.
To regain the trust of Europeans and the rest of the world, it will not be enough for the US to get rid of their king; they will also have to take measures to ensure that never again shall such a tyrant come to power.

Remember those deals that people were proud of making with Trump, that people warned weren't worth the paper they were printed on? Haha, yeah.
Trump just placed a tariff on most of the EU of 10% that will increase to 25% in June unless they agree to sell him Greenland.

This is mad king shit.

Some of them make it big, some of them don't.
It's fine, life goes on, more academy products roll up.

What happens when you let AI write match reports? You end up with reports for games that never happened. Levante v Villarreal was postponed due to bad weather but according to this site it was played, finished 0-0 and was very dull. They even awarded a man of the match! www.bwin.com/en/news/post...

Reporters doggedly criticized Kamala Harris in 2024 for a) not having any policies, and b) having too many details in her policies.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump's signature policy proposals have always been vaporware and it's just been "Donald Being Donald."

Thinking back to the plans Kamala Harris had to spur home buying, and it wasn't "Hey, fuck your future to buy a likely depreciating asset."
President Trump will next week unveil a plan for letting savers in 401(k) retirement plans to use some of their money for down payments on a home purchase, according to National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett.

letting people defund their retirements and fuck over their future selves instead of doing anything to make housing more affordable is definitely a choice this country could make I guess

Seems to me people shouldn't be flying Delta.
Ongoing. On my flight back to MSP from Orlando after the holidays, Delta surprised announced at the gate that all passengers had to present ID to border patrol before boarding. Shocking stuff.

The Nobel folks have, to, HAVE TO issue a statement saying that the award for this year has been voided. The rules prohibit gifting an award, so surely they have a mechanism for saying, "Haha, no."

I live in the UP of Michigan, 4 hours from Minneapolis or Milwaukee, with a bunch of people who "prefer to go not to the city anymore." They're stupid and racist. They prefer hating people who don't look like them to learning anything. They love being ignorant. Their concerns are not valid.
NYTimes has truly outdone itself with this latest in its "ask white guys in diner" genre. Thank goodness we get a perspective on what's happening in Minneapolis from people in **Nisswa** who probably mean Brainerd when they say they "prefer not to go the city anymore" www.nytimes.com/2026/01/15/u...
