Nobody though he was going to be as horrible as he is except the people who knew better. Have said before that American mainstream newsrooms are not equipped to deal with Trump. Still aren't. They never think, "What is the most horrible thing this fucker can do?" They assume Presidential behavior.

How I open my e-mail every day now while awaiting word from Portuguese immigration on our residency renewal. After you submit your packet, you either get a rejection e-mail explaining what you need to fix, or your new card just shows up. So no e-mail is good e-mail.

This is, if you love jazz, one of the most wonderful things you will add to your collection. It's on No Business records. I forget how I initially heard about it back when it first came out, but yikes is this an amazing assemblage of work from the great William Parker.

The families of Emmett Till and countless other lynching victims would like a word. Or maybe this ... individual thinks that "Mississippi Burning" was based on fiction. These people think Americans are supposed to forget history because they say it didn't happen in that way.

This is how I wrote for every day of my journalism career. Report, then sit down and start typing (absent the coffee and joints). My writing coaching was, "Just write that shit. Don't make it harder than it is. Storytelling isn't brain surgery."
