I’m grateful to finally have this resource I co-authored out in the wild. This new edition aims to equip churches (particularly in the global south) for disability ministry.

The Hebrew Scriptures state that such prior problems multiply—rather than reduce—the wrongdoing of further harm. On Mt Sinai, the Lord declared allegiance with those who have preexisting conditions, and gave a law declaring Israel shall not be if it does not share God's compassion (e.g. Ex 22:21-7).
I recently looked up the Arabic translation of some of the names of the emaciated children used in coverage of the alleged famine in Gaza.

It turns out that many of them were sick before the war and have long, complicated medical histories. Our reporting shows they do not represent the average.

"Most of the promotion of A.I. in schools boils down to: Well, it’s happening, and so students need to know.

But there’s nothing attaching it to learning outcomes. There’s nothing assessing its risk to privacy, to data, to the mental and emotional and cognitive development of students."

Get it while you can. It’ll change your life
‘Dietrich Bonhoeffer and a Theology of the Exception’ engages with the many debates about Bonhoeffer’s late resistance theology and action, particularly as it relates to his participation in the attempted coup d'état against Hitler.

The arrests add to a growing number of church members taken despite lawful status.

Ventura County definitely hit hard today with ICE raids.

Crowdsourced site of sightings. Maybe worth starting to TOR this stuff IMHO.

My thoughts with the families of all the folks who were snatched off our streets today 🙏 […]

One of my fav bits of non-commentary on the pope was when a tv anchor said “it’s important to note that he is Augustinian.” When asked why it was important, she answered “well it is an order in the Catholic Church” and nothing else

“An economy in which the ninety-nine are more important than the one is inhumane. Yet we have built a world that works like that: a world of calculation and algorithms, of cold logic and implacable interests.”

This is a great resource from Sociedad Biblia. They are making simple language Bibles that are accessible to people with intellectual disability. They limit the vocab and simplify sentences. They have translated parables, and are now translating the gospel of Luke, Acts, and OT stories.
