Kitty in pfp is my late Momo. I just adopted a dilute torbie named Gabi. All is in flux! Queer, disabled, nontheist (ex-vangelical), nerdy, depressive. Unusual likes: early music, black licorice, Tarkovsky movies.

Pronouns: she/they

Unless I know you, I am unlikely to follow back if you do not use alt text or you repost many things without alt text. It isn't only exclusive of those with visual impairment; it impedes the utility of search and mute functions.
I started playing this and Gabi woke up and looked around like "What the heck?!" 🤣 I didn't know snores had that much significance for cats.

Oh. She's in slug pose now. Why does that make me feel bad? 😂

Today I learned that some of Gabi's most pitiful vocalizations are actually just her "I see an insect. I see an insect" notification.

The insect in question this time wasn't even out of reach! It was on the floor 10 inches in front of her. It all sounded much more dramatic.

Dishwasher is running, dryer is running, I checked for updates to phone apps, Gabi's been fed, I'm caught up on meds (for the next 20 minutes)...

Hm. I feel like I'm forgetting something. Well, will play a puzzle game for a few minutes and see if I remember.

I haven't come up with anything else yet, but I did buy one of Karen Baugh Menuhin's Heathcliff Lennox books, "St Valentine's Day Murder." I've read a few books in that series and liked them, so I took the chance.

Yeah, I bought the ebook. So I will start it tomorrow and finish, ahem... sometime.
I sort of meant to plan something for tomorrow so I wouldn't suddenly find myself with Valentine's and/or Cole Hall Shooting Anniversary blues, but my brain doesn't seem to have noticed the dates between the 9th and 13th. Oops.

I loved that song. So dark.

(Bluesky, home of those who were Gashlycrumb Tinies in previous lives.)
Today I finally learned what that "99 Luftballons" song is about and I must say I liked it much better when I didn't know this!

Current Gabi status:

Sitting on the stairs very sleepily, patiently listening to me tell her how bummed my mother was that Gabi did not run up and squeak at her when she was here this afternoon.

("Sometimes that girl is conked out HARD, Mom. I'm sorry.")

Listening to episode 433 of Ben Franklin's World. It's really cool and I'm grateful my brain is letting me listen and not doing its "But I don't like sounds right now!" troublemaking.

I haven't watched any of the Olympics yet, but I think tomorrow I might find some figure skating videos. That sounds fun.

I listened to an episode of Ben Franklin's World about slavery in California last night. Or early this morning. It was very good, but maybe slightly too tough of a listen for me right now. I've been having dreams that are really mixed up, with some fun things, some gross things, and way too...

Alrighty, I've spent my SNAP money for the month.

At least half of it on cheese.

I still need coffee and tapioca starch and stuff, but I have a gift card I can use when I can physically go to Meijer. Whenever that is.
