We deserve a Democratic Party that is willing to fight as hard as we are.
We need new leadership in this moment and to get there, we need a chorus of support for change. Tell your Democratic senators to call on Senator Schumer to step aside as Minority Leader. It’s time for drastic action.

I continue to think that maybe a bunch of men, many of whom were literal child rapists, who thought that it was cool and normal to own other human beings, weren't omniscient when it comes to designing a government and maybe it's okay to change a few things

You can get through to someone at Kaine’s Richmond office: (540) 682-5693
I just spoke to poor Taylor, who took my message of fury and disappointment

They caved in March so they could get a better deal now. They’re caving now so they can get a better deal in some indeterminate future. The better deal is always just beyond their reach, but continuing to cave will get them there. And if you don’t agree with that, you don’t understand Politics,

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.
We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

It doesn't actually matter if Chuck Schumer votes for this or not.
If he can't keep his caucus unified to protect healthcare for over 10 million Americans, he should resign as leader.

look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry

If you wouldn’t want to do it next week, you won’t want to do it in six months!
Past me agreed to 3 talks in 3 cities over the next week followed by a week on service and current me is decidedly not a fan of past me.

URGENT: Call Mark Warner - 202-224-2023 and Tim Kaine - (202) 224-4024 and tell them NOT to cave to the GOP on the shutdown without a minimum one year extension on the ACA subsidies!
I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.
It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Cheaper and the moral choice

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

The USDA is the fail safe for SNAP.
They have a contingency fund to ensure it’s covered in the event of a shutdown.
They’re refusing.
Grocery stores stepped up to try and help by offering discounts to any SNAP recipients and the USDA told them they had to stop.
