Today's announcement is the opposite of what it says it is. It's the formal cancellation of the high speed line across the Pennines.

What's left - additional TRU scope - is a good idea but should be delivered as a business as usual enhancement in 2027, not some far off fanfaron.

There are now at least 365 UK MPs with accounts on Bluesky – more than half (56%) of all MPs

🔴 This includes nearly 70% of Labour MPs
🔶 Nearly 90% of Lib Dem MPs
🟢 All the 4 Green MPs

🔵 But only 5% of Conservative MPs
➡️ No Reform MPs
More MPs are coming off X and I assume that means they will be posting more on here

@politicshome.bsky.social has a handy list of all the MPs on Bluesky

Please point out anyone who is missing!

Farage gets all defensive and flappy when Zahawi is asked about vaccines.

- "We believe in free speech."
- "I was asking Mr Zahawi."
- "He wouldn't know the answer."

Ah yes. The sort of 'free speech' that Trump's White House believes in. ~AA

Discover Exeter's King Alfred the Great Penny - RAMM

Incredibly excited to welcome Oxford City Councillor Edward Mundy to the Green Party today.

As a result of this, the Greens now have a record nine councillors on Oxford City Council.

important point from @louisehaighmp.bsky.social ; MPs removing themselves from X isn't just registering disapproval of X, it's saying to constituents/NGOs/journalists/public generally: you don't have to be in this horrible place, and run the gauntlets that involves, to interact with us.
I call on my party and my government to remove themselves entirely from X and communicate with the public where they actually participate online and can be protected from such illegality.

NEW: China is testing a megawatt-scale airborne wind system that captures stronger high-altitude winds, potentially producing up to 10× more energy with 40% less material and 30% lower costs. It could also be quickly deployed to supply emergency power after disasters.

The death of a legal observer in Minnesota by ICE is a warning to the UK in so many ways. We’re tying ourselves to a violent, corrupt, racist nation which does not care about its citizens. Reform believes in its model, Labour is appeasing it. It is the public who will suffer.

ICE murdered a beautiful young mother in Minneapolis. They shot her three times in the face. She was a poet. She played guitar. She was sitting next to her wife and had her kid's toys in the car when some subhuman thug with a badge shot her in the face

There is no forgiveness for these people.
