The obvious point here, which doesn't seem to have occurred to Jenrick, is that there has been a long history of white people moving out of ethnically mixed neighbourhoods. Refusing to integrate, if you will.

Very sad news about the death of Denzil Meyrick at the age of only 59. He was a truly original voice on the crime writing scene, with his twisty plots, mordant wit and memorable characters. And he was such an entertaining guest at festivals such as "Bloody Scotland". Condolences to his family!
