In a world where Gen AI wasn't being trained on copywrited works without consent, data centers weren't causing ecological harm and inflating the cost of electricity and tech CEOs weren't looking for ways to replace their workers with it, these would be entirely valid uses of AI imo.

So, he's pushing for AI, even though isn't helping at all, because of the possibility, that maybe, somehow, possibly, they will find a great use for it that no one has found yet? Or I'm missing something?

Because if it's that, this looks like he fell for a scam and doesn't want to admit it.

The thing thats so insidious about using AI this way is that one of the main ways artists get hired are studios looking for art references and they find us and reach out.

This is removing a major avenue to get work if they can just generate nameless derivations of our ideas.

"we USE ai, but our game wont CONTAIN it" is a clarification that no one has ever cared about & now CEOs are using it as a wedge to get their foot in the door as a part of a long term plan into normalizing AI, just like how 'it's just placeholder' was used with E33. dont cede even an inch of ground

AI art as reference isn't bad just because it might get anatomy wrong. A good portion of art making is doing research. Like, for my Carmilla paintings I actually studied photos and illustrations of dresses from the 1800s. I got to UNDERSTAND what I was drawing. AI wont give you that.

So i wrote a thing and...here. I can't rewrite it withotu many posts.

"Its okay to use AI so long as it's not in the final product."

Why? Genuinely why do you think that? That makes no actual sense. If its okay to use at one step, why is it not okay to use at another step?

Or are you just a spineless consumoid who can't stand to have to use your grey matter?

Develop “concept art”?? 💀 💀 💀

All the image models solely rely on stolen work of countless of artists to function at capacity.

Using them not only is deeply unethical but puts the company at risk.

Not worth it and I truly hope ( hell, I’m begging) that they reconsider 😭
