Walz: When did government get to tell you how many dolls your child has? Government just big enough to fit in your bedroom, your womb, and apparently now in your toy chest.

It’s weird to live in a time when basic principles like cruelty is wrong, cheating is empty & the idea that curiosity, generosity, originality, the satisfaction of earned accomplishments & loving intimacy are the center of a good life feel like countercultural concepts

Trump poses as the Pope in full holy garments and gets a pass.

Obama puts on a tan suit and they lose their frigging minds.

See how that works?

Sure, Trump trashed a booming economy. But on the bright side, at least we turned our allies against us, sold out the people of Ukraine, eliminated the rule of law, became a fascist police state, and destroyed the government services from the weather service to the national parks to Social Security.

😂😂😂 Republican Mike Lawler gives a non-answer to a question about tariffs at his town hall tonight in Rockland Cty, NY and the audience starts chanting "blah blah blah. BLAH BLAH BLAH"

Where we are is the inevitable result of giving undue deference to "sincerely held beliefs."

It actually does not matter if your beliefs are sincerely held or not. If your sincerely held belief is that certain human beings are less than others, you suck, no matter how sincerely you believe it.

NEW: Judge Boasberg finds probable cause to hold the Trump administration in contempt for their decision not to turn the planes around on March 15.

He orders them either to fix their mistake or identify who made those decisions (presumably for further sanctions).

I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you.

The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.

We need more of this—and more solidarity:

“No government—regardless of which party is in power—should dictate what private universities can teach, whom they can admit and hire, and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.”

i'm watching a group of conservative law professors insist that there is a grand debate over birthright citizenship that somehow escaped generations of scholarship and only popped into existence after a right-wing president announced an effort to nullify the 14th amendment.

so no, I don't think "they'll never trust us again" is really the biggest problem. It's more that Americans are going to have to engage in the foreign policy equivalent of pissing into a cup to get a job

The claim that the U.S. can’t get him back is 1) false and 2) obviously a pretext for their deliberate attempt to ignore the Due process clauses of the 5th and 14th Amendments. It’s the sort of transparent deception this SCOTUS majority would see through if it came from a Democratic president.
