Otacon: What was she fighting for? What am _I_ fighting for? What are _you_ fighting for!?

Snake: If we make it through this, I'll tell you

Snake, later: So I'm pretty sure I was genetically engineered to be addicted to getting combat high
I typically dislike the adage of "this game gets better N hours in", but for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, it's unfortunately true. But that's because they give you a bit too much freedom too early; you have all these systems that don't really make sense until you get things from the back half of the game

Apropos of nothing in particular, just wanted to say that, personally, I think voice actors and mocap actors are actors just like any other and their very human performances are very important to video game development 🙂

A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

Jebus, the absolute worst part of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is its overreliance on RNG. Want all the Blades (i.e., characters)? You gotta play gacha! Except it's a single player game with no monetization. So it's just wasting your time for fun 🙃

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has been troublesome to get through (I've been trying on and off for like 8 years, jeez), but I really have come to enjoy the main cast and the dynamic they have with each other. I love these goobers

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

First go to the hamburger menu in the upper left corner

When I was a teen, I was super into webcomics and, as a result, a deep user of RSS to get my comic feeds. But then Google Reader died, RSS kinda fell out of fashion, and microblogging grew. However, it seems like RSS is maybe making a small comeback? Maybe it's time to try it out again

study after study after study shows that literally just handing people money and telling them "do what you want with this" reduces homelessness, increases food security for children, makes it more likely people will find and retain jobs.1

@djara.dev Are there any plans for the Wafrn mobile app to be able to display the Bluesky/ATProto character limit when composing a post like the Wafrn web app does? Just think it would be useful info when typing when talking to people that are specifically on Bsky/ATProto

Today's Animal Crossing New Horizons surprise update trailer feels strangely targeted at me
Maybe this will be the attempt where I finally finish Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the game I've been playing on and off for, like, almost 8 years now?

And she did it after getting bored of having drug fuelled threesomes with Percy Shelley and Byron.

Fucking punk rocker.
It's incredible that Mary Shelley was just 18 years old when she wrote "Frankenstein" and 200 years later people are still thinking about it and talking about it and remaking it.

How many works of art have that kind of lasting impact?

Furthermore public transit teaches you how to live with temporary minor annoyances and cars teach you that you're god's most special baby and your moment-to-moment comfort is the only important thing in the world

When a chatbot gets something wrong, it’s not because it made an error. It’s because on that roll of the dice, it happened to string together a group of words that, when read by a human, represents something false. But it was working entirely as designed. It was supposed to make a sentence & it did.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.
