I think the Trump admin greatly underappreciated the degree to which collectively braving “holy shit” levels of cold is central to Northern community. My (totally speculative guess) is that for many protestors, It’s not a deterrent as much as an extra source of community pride and resilience.
I feel like an under-appreciated piece of all the protests that have been happening in different parts of the U.S. over the past few weeks (and months!) is that it's, like, super cold in many of these places.
If protests persist this year, genuinely curious if the crowds grow when weather warms.
