A "Chief White House Correspondent" not understanding that no vote is necessary says a whole lot about our political press, doesn't it?
In a dramatic reversal, Trump now says House Republicans should vote for a measure calling for the release of the Epstein files, essentially a concession that he cannot stop the resolution from being passed. @ashleyahn88.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/live/2025/11...

A perfect album from the year I turned 16?
It was 1996, on average, we got a new perfect album every other week.

Look, I appreciate sharing the rage bait just as much as the next terminally online person.
But can we PLEASE start including the name of the author(s) in these screenshots?

Walk off the field if they overturn this.

Didn't think I'd see my friend's backyard from the drone shot of a Michigan game.

That female v male graph sure is interesting.
Those claiming Dems should retreat on racial justice aren't hard-headed realists, they're pushing against the electoral tide rather than leaning into it. The story of Gen Z isn't about racist backlash or red-pilled young men. It's the most racially progressive generation in American history. 🧵

Is it really just the body count being so much lower in "I Know What You Did Last Summer" that makes it compare so poorly to "Scream"?

Maybe while Andre is tripping over himself to thank the Republicans, he can ask when we're going to get maps representative of 40% of the population voting for Democrats, while we only get 2 winnable seats out of 9.
The Indiana Senate has said it will not vote on unfair redistricting.

To the legislators who stood firm, faith leaders, concerned citizens, organizers, and volunteers: thank you. This is what happens when we make our voices heard.

This is just shitty writing, not irony.

I know that when I need the truth about something happening in the GOP, the best source of info are anonymous GOP staffers.
My assessment is also that groyper staffers in DC are "a loud minority but not to the double digits." I'd even doubt 5%. Nick himself recently admitted his people aren't in DC- see video below. Rod Dreher is conflating 'hard-right' with 'groyper'.

I was 25 in 2005, so maybe a bit outside the "kids" range, but an entire 250 album binder was taken up with 60s and 70s rock.

How could you possibly claim to like rock in 2005 and not listen to stuff from those decades?

It will never stop being odd how media outlets insist on using glamour shots of the subjects of their stories on corruption.

Goddamned Millennials.
When I was 37 I was dating a woman who was 19. The thing that inspired me to break things off was hearing Pearl Jam's "Alive" on the radio - a song released 9 years before her birth she had never heard . In that moment I realized things would never work.

Do you ever sit and think about the reporters who let these people talk to them like this, and then promise to grant them anonymity so they can keep getting that sweet, sweet access to fascists?

Who could have guessed that the party who turned a failed child actor with a melting brain into their patron saint had daddy issues?
I know this is an obvious and old point, but it still shocks me how quickly the culture of the GOP has come to defined by the absurd personality type of the "toad-licking, ass kissing alpha." Amazing that they've built an audience that finds such deportment appealing, rather than disqualifying.

How have these people never learned the importance of just shutting the fuck up? Nothing you are going to say right now is going to help.
We know you fucked us, now just shut the fuck up.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

The only way to actually commemorate the wreck is for Gary and his quisling friends to recreate the trip on jet skis.
50 years ago, the Edmund Fitzgerald and all 29 of her crew were lost to Lake Superior. @klobuchar.senate.gov and I are introducing a resolution to help honor their memory and ensure their legend lives on.

What shows that Chris doesn't completely understand the problem is that he thinks WE were with THEM on this.

Unfortunately, the truth is that THEY were finally with US on something.
In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

There are days that I wish I was willing to rob old people.
It would take less than 30 minutes to get Durbin's passwords.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Every time a court reporter tells us there aren't 5 conservative votes to do something awful, I assume that awful thing is going to happen.
As I explained when Davis' lawyers filed this petition, there was virtually no chance that the Supreme Court would seriously consider her case. I doubt there are five votes to overturn Obergefell—but if there were, this case does not present a clean vehicle for doing so. slate.com/news-and-pol...
